Anybody willing to inform me about VTC?
I am researching if this is a coin i would like to invest, but overhere I am reading a lot about scam yes/no.
What is the historie and what are The future plans for VTC?
These days it is getting more and difficult to select the good coins.

Can somebody help?
I have followed the guide to compile and set up vertminer at vertcoin.org, though I get the following error upon using this command:

Code:
./buildit.sh

Code:
./buildit.sh: 2: ./buildit.sh: ./configure: not found
make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found.  Stop.
rm: cannot remove `*.bin': No such file or directory
./buildit.sh: 6: [: -a: unexpected operator
stripping vertminer
strip: 'vertminer': No such file

I have been trying to get this to run for weeks!
I will offer a bounty of 15 vertcoin + 1 week of vertcoin mining with 2 280xs and 4 7950s.

Please help,
Erik

You need to have a software development toolkit, which varies from distribution to distribution.

Okay, thanks.
Where would i get a toolkit for xubuntu 12.10.

Use QTcreator it will also give you a graphic interface
download from https://qt-project.org/downloads
and run vertcoin-qt.pro from your vertcoin folder

Alternatively (no graphic interface)
make -f makefile.unix on your src folder

Or just do

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:vertcoin/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install vertcoin-qt

Okay, Thanks.
I now have vertminer compiled, however I am back to the original error.

Code:
[2014-05-06 16:03:11] Started vertminer 0.5.4pre3Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Is this a problem with the drivers, I installed catalyst drivers with this:
Code:
sudo apt-get install fglrx-updates fglrx-amdcccle-updates fglrx-updates-dev
sudo aticonfig --lsa
sudo aticonfig --adapter=all --initial
sudo reboot

Thanks,
Erik

You can use sgminer. It also support scrypt-n. https://github.com/veox/sgminer
There is a good readme.

has anyone heard of this site i want to point my miner for triple mining but just never heard of this site.... http://hk.vertco.in/

It's just https://www.vertco.in/, but the HK server for Asian miners.
Ok but does anyone know if this is a good site to point my miner at for VTC says on front page they will payout MON and PLX " as bonuses "  i just dont understand how will they pay out this if the site only lets me put in a VTC address for payments. Huh
give-me-coins.com has wallets for all 3 coins, been using it for a few days now, no issues.
thanks for that i might check them out see what is good with them if i dont see " the bonus MON and PLX " added soon to vertco.in

Say, did anyone ever compile a Linux X64 binary with static libraries for cpu mining?
Ive tried a couple of times to get it to statically compile, but no luck.

VTCPOOL.CO.UK users:

There will be a short period of downtime some time in the next day or two to migrate the pool to a new server.

https://www.hashcoins.com/buy-scrypt-miners/buy-triton-miner/

The HashCoins™ Triton miner is a PCIe mining card, powered by 2 Scrypt ASICs and Adaptive N-factor compatibility.
Product under development.
Notus is now available for pre-order with an estimated delivery date July-August 2014.

Hahahaha okay we'll see.

"With our Scrypt hardware, you can mine multiple coins: Litecoin, Dogecoin, Vertcoin, Mintcoin, Auroracoin"

Mintcoin, Auroracoin ORLY?

This is bullshit for newbies, like "litecoin mining rigs" on ebay. Shady website.
