Yeah, we should hit another difficulty adjustment in about 15 minutes at this rate, bringing the orphans lower again.

Yeah, true - I have some GPUs though! Not sure how worth writing a GPU miner it's going to be though with the N-factor adjustments, should be pretty resistant.

I like this coin.
But i have very much orphans... 45 orpaned blocks last 20 minutes.

Strange, I'm having no problems here.

If you didn't get any VTC yet, you could try closing vertcoin and deleting everything in c:\users\yourname\appdata\roaming\vertcoin other than the conf file then restarting.

Thats until someone adapts a GPU miner for it.... im sure some people have started already...

On windows, vertcoin.conf in c:\users\\appdata\roaming\vertcoin

have that file look like:

addnode=1.2.3.4
addnode=5.6.7.8

etc.

then restart vertcoin.

No offense intended, but did you quote the right thing? I assume you know that orphan rate goes way up when the blockrate is super fast (under a few seconds per block).
