Same problem here, it started today, used to work fine, QT wallet won't get connections.

I am actually surprised to see so many people reporting about issues with their wallet,
the lack of connexions (which mean connection issues) when on the front end
Vertcoin is having a blast for the last few days.
And even more, this morning, it is going really strong....
So, what is happening with the network?

I see Vertcoin growing alot more in market cap in the future. It is much better technically and fundamentally as compared to Bitcoin or Litecoin.

Yes also same problem for weeks now. Just 1 connection that stays up for a couple of miliseconds and nothing else.

Congratulations for hitting the top 50 coins in market cap! This is awesome news since it hit the top 100 a few times over the last couple of month.
The addition of Vertcoin to the ledger nano wallet was a great achievement, too.
These are both great posts regarding the features of Vertcoin. With the upcoming block halving in December, this might get even more interesting.

What a pain in the ass it was to send coins. Fully synced latest wallet keeps dropping nodes and NEVER has more than 1 active node. Every time I went to send coins it would drop connections and leave the transaction unconfirmed. The only way to recover my coins was to close the wallet, delete mempool.dat and restart the wallet with the -zapwallettxes option. It took me over an hour to be able to find some node in Russia that would stay synced long enough to be able to send the transaction. Hard to believe a coin that's been around as VTC can't put out a wallet or official list of the nodes so thae dam thing stays synced!
