I was always skeptical about that dude his approach to matters where quite different he was trying to play the role of a forum police and ignoring other part of the forum.
Well I must say not everything that glitters is gold

The interesting part was his admission of guilt... Even if backtracked with claims that he is doing the right thing and "looking out" for people. Of course he's most certainly a giant piece of shit, but the fact that he would offer some insight into how scammer assholes operate does set him apart a bit from the rest.

Moral of the story: implementing the OP scammer warning for logged out visitors was a smart move.

The first posts from this guy was when he first appeared right after Skeptical One and his gang of 3 & YoutubeTV  (who is now back as MadmanAmazon) were banned was tagging other scammers as well as a rail against me here in Meta IIRC.

Oh wait....I thought I read this somewhere....

His argument is seriously "It's OK because I only stole large amounts"? Did he miss the part of the story where Robin Hood gives away the money to the poor? I know it's been a couple of decades since I last watched Robin Hood, but I don't remember it being "Steal from the rich and keep it all for myself".

You saw the movie...
In reality, all those outlaws robbed everyone rich or poor and spend all the money on booze and brothels.
And unfortunately, this forum is filled with real humans, not movie heroes:P.

I am alive but in hibernation.
After reading scammer reply I got the feeling that scamming other is now addiction to them.  It does not matter to scammer what is their financial status. Look like they enjoy their con jobs.

I am more interested in knowing what causes the users to trust these scammers.

Well i don't know much about PSYCHOLOGY, what i am trying to say is : whatever shit this scammer has told you, is almost always the exact same thing that every other scammer will say to you (as far as the JUSTIFICATION goes)

That is why I think it is not really interesting unless you have never spoken to a scammer in an open-minded way, but once you do it once, it becomes boring because they all have the same excuses/motives (mentioned above)

what i would find more interesting , is a rich scammer who has some mental issues , something like kleptomania or such.

by all means sandy,i hope you haven't fallen in love for that Robinhood  Tongue

It's not WHAT someone says, it the WAY in which they say it. You have to separate the shit from the gold.  Messy, but with a little work you can. Everything is not black and white.

Our war veterans go fight for our country and when they come back to their country our country don't even help or support them.

so he wants to collect (more) money from countries that his country invaded?  Roll Eyes

anyways sandy if you think this is "interesting" then i am disappointed in you - this what they always say, it's always about the cruel world that made them poor, it's always about their kid's medicine and food, and it's always about thinking that the person they scam is richer than them.

i am certain that even if we don't buy this shit, they do  , when you do something wrong, you always have to justify it to yourself, if it's justifiable, you keep doing it.

@mikeywith  You aren't "comprehending."  It's not a binary choice (good keep looking, bad don't pay attention). Sure it's interesting.  So is reading about the mind of Adolph Hitler, Albert Einstein and as well as the Boston Strangler into what led them down their path of both genius and evil genius.   It's called PSYCHOLOGY. Spent 6 yrs of my life studying and reading about that stuff. It was back in the "old days" but still .......   "Things" don't have to be good to be "interesting."  Always want to learn. Learning is good, even about negative things that sometimes help to understand what's going on around you.  Can't just dismiss or ignore what you don't like  or don't agree with.

Sandy, I can't tell if your thread is about the person you linked in particular, or overall the mind of scammers. Let me know and I'll delete this if I read your OP's topic wrong and this is off topic.

If you are looking for some more interesting psychology around scammers, if you weren't in the loop with the joeyjmr cases back in like 2012/2013, its worth a read. I don't remember all of his antics, but if I recall, there was alway an attempt to scam the TV show Judge Judy. People got pissed off and signed him up for all of those free sample websites and sent him unpaid for pizzas. The good ole days of teenagesque prank vigilante justice.

Sounds "interesting" will check it out. Yes, interested in  among other things the "mind" of these scammers.  I do agree some are just low-life scumbag thieves but there are all types.

I’m not interested in glorifying scammers & ‘their works’.

If it was up to me they’d all be hung, drawn & quartered. I think it’s disgusting people would even think about stealing somebody else’s coins/money. Bitcoin is some people’s hope & potential eacape from a life of wage slavery & misery. Some people use bitcoin as a pension fund, some people put their life savings into bitcoin.

To purposefully scam people out of money is fucking inhumane, I don’t care what amount of money it is. If it’s not yours you DO NOT have any right to touch it.

If this ass hole is leaving the forum then I’m glad. It’ll be a better place without him.

Good riddance.

I don't think this thread is "glorifying" anything.  I think it is a peek into a twisted mind.  That being said, I believe he is, from his grammar and his use of idioms, he is from US or less likely Canada.  Also I believe he is a liar wrt his absurdly altruistic self-aggrandizing explanation of why he does it.  I think he is some over entitled millennial kid in college or with a college degree with good writing skills.

True, but it's very interesting to see the scammer's perspective. And that's why I'll merit his posts, it's worth reading, especially Newbies should read it. It's a good warning not to trust random strangers on the internet. I'm just amazed people still need that warning, that should be obvious by now!

What country is he from? I get the feeling English isn't his first language. I'm not going to deny there can be artful deception involved in scams and frauds, but he's hardly a master here. He's as basic as they come and prays on the greedy who don't use their brain because they think they're getting a great deal. People come here because they think they can get x amount off a giftcard and he's all too happy to take advantage of that. All I'll give him is that he has persistence, but it's like taking candy from a baby after that. The only effort he likely puts in is any convincing they may take over telegram or whatsapp or whatever to seal the deal. I'm not sure how much he makes in bitcoin but I think the majority of people who find his threads here will be using a different payment medium. Can't imagine there being many bitcoiners being that niave or first timers going out of their way to buy bitcoin just for this deal.

And isn't the whole "evil bankers" thing a bit of a cliche? That just seems like a whole load of bs that he uses to try justify his actions to himself. If he was truly smart he could put his wits to some legitimate business. Take the money he's made illegitimately and at least go legit with it. Scams will probably catch up to him eventually if he thinks he's going to make a lifelong career out of it.
I can only speculate where he lives, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he lived in a country where corruption is rampant.

I see some similarities between his story and that of a police officer who threatens to arrest a rich tourist if they don’t give him a bribe.

This guy is the worst kind of person around here. He is a professional scammer who takes advantage of weaknesses in marketplace safeguards that go months/years unaddressed.

There are a decent amount of “on-ramps” in which people can quickly buy bitcoin nearly instantly, often with their credit cards and often with a decent premium. I wouldn’t be especially surprised if he got his customers to use one of these services— even with a large premium, the customers would still be getting a good deal....except for the part about getting scammed.

I think the best solution to someone like him is to act quickly to address weaknesses in scam warning systems. There were many people who noticed that this guy was scamming and were attempting to warn others about him.

One good solution might be to force guests to view EMs sticky thread once per x time before the first time they visit a marketplace thread.

I saw in some of this weekend, members, being haunted with emotion, high blood pressure, accusations, liars, and so on without valid evidence, bullshit.
Stop accusing each other, Forum place for discussion, not for fighting sheep.
I think why members who have trust do not unite to clean up frauds, spammers, in this Forum it is cleaner.
Well, one of the things I saw, happened all this time in forums, controlling emotions, thinking positively, it would be better for everyone.

What I don’t understand is why literally no-one address this users (Sandy-is-fine) constant shitposting

Lol.  I wondered how long it would take Mr MadmanAmazon/YoutubeTV or whoever you are today to jump in here.    It is my pleasure and honor to “shit-post” your shit threads.  One piece of shit deserves a good shit on it’s post.  Cheesy

Besides all you are doing is cultivating a new alt to start a new scam thread.  It’s getting old already.

EDIT:

I am sure it is ONLY a coincidence.  LOL.  Get some balls boy and show yourself.  Wimp.  Cheesy

Oh look, a brand new account created 4 minutes before this post. Roll Eyes

Since you are clearly the alt account of a red trusted scammer, I would be interested to see what you have contributed to the forum which gives you such a high horse from which to judge others. If you think he is spamming, go and report all his posts and the mods will delete them. It's as simple as that. You don't need to ask other people to do your dirty work for you.

These alts who try to control the forum & have a say in how it runs, criticising reputable members are starting to piss me off.

RE: TheBigPayback "confessions of a scammer"  Not sure if this is a scam in itself but the guy seems to be quite intelligent and wrote some interesting stuff.  Maybe others can learn something from this.  I can't imagine how many accounts he had or has.

This was the last posts n the EcuaMobi "sticky post" in digital goods.  The first posts from this guy was when he first appeared right after Skeptical One and his gang of 3 & YoutubeTV  (who is now back as MadmanAmazon) were banned was tagging other scammers as well as a rail against me here in Meta IIRC. I found it interesting if not entertaining.  He thinks he is Robinhood stealing from the rich to make himself richer.

Not to open mention spamming scammers threads. From what I’m aware of this user constantly breaks the rules by spamming with no action taken.

Besides scam busting, this user contributes absolutely nothing and is rewarded with placement on the DT list.

Just shows how downhill the forum is going  Cheesy

Just one of the several serial scammers whose "business" is going to be hurt by the new warning for guests and non-logged in users. Glad to see that he has already felt the pinch and is leaving the forum. May the rest follow.
