I also added Vestacoin to my Offline Wallet Generator. So if you just want to mine the coin now you can generate your wallet address and import it later to the wallet.

Is there possibility now to import this offline generated wallet to Linux wallet?

Not yet. The wallet does not have the option to import your private keys yet.

Making headway on the windows wallet... Looks like a community member has stepped up to claim the reward:

We are also breaking ground on getting master-nodes implemented with instant transactions. We believe that the key to our success will depend on how fast transactions can be sent over the network. With master-nodes also comes Proof-of-Stake, which will ensure the longevity of our network as well. We would also like to solicit the opinion of you, the community! Have suggestions on new features, or if your a developer and would like to contribute to the project- hop into the discord.

We have also been working with a few exchanges to be listed. As soon as we have confirmation we will update you Smiley

If you have been thinking about throwing some hashrate our way- might be a great time to utilize the offline wallet generator in the original post and start hashing before the network hashrate goes through the roof.

Trying to build wallet in Ubuntu 14.04.5 and get an error:

Code:
Scanning dependencies of target ConnectivityTool
[ 51%] Building CXX object src/CMakeFiles/ConnectivityTool.dir/ConnectivityTool/ConnectivityTool.cpp.o
make[2]: *** No rule to make target `/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libboost_system.so', needed by `src/connectivity_tool'.  Stop.
make[1]: *** [src/CMakeFiles/ConnectivityTool.dir/all] Error 2
make: *** [all] Error 2

How to fix that?

Looks like boost may not be installed, try apt-get install libboost-all-dev

Can't PM because im Newbie, so:

I made a translation of the ANN to german, in case it is needed. (Did fill out the google sheet).

Also, a few small mistakes in the english version, notably

In this way there are alot more ways to obtain vesta-coin than mining
, although u might wanna change the whole sentence.

More imoprtantly in the solo mining section

This wallet has been tested on UBTUNTU 16.04 with libboost-all-dev installed. If you are having issues make sure this is installed: apt-get install libboost-all-dev
- the code has a failure i think.

I'm hoping to see a windows wallet soon.

Thank you for the translation and grammatical suggestions- I will add them to the OP.

Got a weird situation - was mining at 3-4.5KHs for 30-60mins, the pending balance did not change. Can you check for address VESTVMrAxvKUhkMVCFwDSTYtjeQKXVHSu1M6kPFdfFc2W2BstdB6msjYiEQ28Jr9QMUwARzNePQWDUx 9rc9qHCL6AEywDewQwK

hi... long time lurker, but I had to register because of the urge to ask a simple question...

why launch another coin (fork) with only 1 paragraph of "new idea"
what's the point ?

seriously, if your idea ever becomes successful, which we all admit is a very low chance because of the extremely high competition and overlapping coins (don't be mad !), you will have created a highly suspicious "pre-mine" base with only hype-users (rig owners, nicehashers, etc.) that don't truly care about your project.

in other words, announcing a project before it has any real "meat" around it creates whales that WILL MASSIVELY DUMP at the first hints of natural growth and make "organic" growth near impossible.

IMHO this applies the most to coins which don't aim at being a pure currency, and have a more original concept behind it (which VESTA seems to aim at)

I thought that Garlicoin did a good thing... the first announcements were for a test net... when an organic community big enough gathered around it, they announced "real mining" at a fixed date so that so that everyone could have a chance (and many pools were organized)

also, look at what happened with turtlecoin (cryptonote fork),  which had progressive "dark" and word-of-mouth announcements (AKA not a syncronised start like garlicoin)... tons of whales began dumping... big spike, now the coin is at 3-4 sats, not moving at all for weeks now (or just slowly losing value). this is sad because turtlecoin, is actually a real project with real devs and a drive to improve the cryptonote blockchain in a focused way...

tl;dr i mean to some extent it's very hard to prevent bubble behavior with new coins, but there are various ways of mitigating it.... announcing a projet with only minimal meat around it (i.e. a vague paragraph) only feeds speculation which in turn will affect the coin negatively once the project picks up more substance (if it ever does..........)

edit : obviously garlicoin didn't solve the hype problem (it has a price graph similar to turtlecoin), but accusation of virtual premine (limited # of early lucky users) doesn't apply as it applies to turtlecoin (which in my view is a more legit project, with active devs)

I didn't look into this coin, but it is common for cryptonight coins to require up to 3 h to mature

100 blocks to maturity and 60s block times, confirmations required becomes 1 hr 40 minutes.

It took about 45 minutes before I started seeing transactions listed.  Now they are coming through consistently every 10 minutes.
