I don't know about all of you but whenever I am hearing the word Bitcoin Cat it always reminds me of Cryptokitties, And maybe they had named it to Bitcoin Cat because of the popularity of that same game or they are up to something but this is just a hunch and speculation I haven't research about it and even if I did I think that BCH was never even great from the start and another fork is like saying that BCH is doom or it really needs an upgrade for a certain Fork to be Fork again it is just ironic to here them do it.

The pointless forks of famous projects are very good for the forking team as it's like a free money for them. I don't really get why new people buy into that .
It's like gambling, if they fork and if they got support, they can make big money. If not, then another coin for pump-and-dump that the developers themselves can do, potential money as well. And it's interesting that if someone doesn't agree on the consensus, and what is the best thing for them to do? Fork it and claim it's better that the supposedly original. And it doesn't matter if they have the consensus, what matters is that they have some support to fork the coin.

it seems like a very simple formula to make some money quickly.
- make a name for yourself in the cryptocurrency scene (eg. ViaBtc, McAfee, Ver, Bitmain,...)
- either copy bitcoin and create a shitcoin to dump on idiots or start an ICO, IEO, STO, DEFI, XYZ,...
- dump that shit on whoever is idiot enough to buy it
- count the money you made...
I definitely agree into these points which is actually the real thing that do happen on this market where people who do built up their names would really have the
chance or tendency on making such steps for them to make money and to think or to say on why the hell is a forked coin from BTC itself (BCH) would have an another Fork
via itself. Is this way or thing possible? If it does then i dont see any relevance or would really be that on need yet theres no people been needing of this one knowing
the current reputation of Bitcoincash shit in the market.

It's the first time to happen I guess, an original Bitcoin fork has now another fork, wow.. aren't they tired of recycling ideas that won't still sell to the public? Not gonna support this and I'm sure people have already seen that Bitcoin will remain the best investment compared to any forks or any altcoins in the market.

They are most likely using this absurd name to create attention to this project, ....

Most likely, they think it's a game and people would still buy the hype of whatsoever/ Smiley

I never heard this coming but thanks for sharing, I'm not into forks that much but this is always a good way to make extra money, just buy BCH and get the free coins, that's neat enough for me, anyways I will do my own research on this Bitcoin cat first and see what I can come up with, thanks for sharing

Actually all of us never see this coming, I mean we already just had a fork and there are a lot of bitcoin fork currently in the market and only a few survived. Yes, this is free money if you hold BCH during the fork itself, but what difference does it make?

I don't think this will pull through day and I don't think that it will have the consensus in the first place.

They are most likely using this absurd name to create attention to this project, take this article for example. It'll attract investors of course thinking that they could make a quick buck out of this. Though I doubt that this will last long which is why they said that this is just a temporary name and they are probably going to change it once the name became obsolete.

The fact that the proposed bitcoin cat will be a Fork of a very popular project as that of bitcoin fork will make a lot of people support and invest into it. Most people lately don't really understand the project they support. They only look at the popularity of the team behind the project not what the project does. It will not be surprising to see the bitcoin cat becoming a successful one.

What do you exactly mean? It's a going to be a fork coin again, so I don't know if people are going to support it, to be honest.

As I remember Viabtc was one of the largest proponent for bitcoincash fork. They along with bitmain supported Bitcoincash calling it better for miners. Craig Wright forked it after he found himself not to be the prime person for the new coins. The desire for viabtc could be reasoned to the same.
Forking an open source coin is a good thing for diversification and parallel development but forking just to make you and your idea the only valid one would promote more forks than on actual development.

Yeah, I agree, just because you don't understand with the original concept, you would make a coin out of it, oh well, that is decentralisation.

Exacty, easy peasy.

What goes around, comes around. The people that supported Bitcoin Cash initial are now reaping the fruit of their reward. If they like call it Bitcoin Cow. The issue here is that people have moved on from all these Bitcoin infighting and the game is now with DEFI projects, it might pump a bit but it won't last

Great Idea! If BCH and BSV still is a success with the coins on top of CMC rank why not. Forking is easy money of course for the next bull run and did Ver said he will support all the way?  Creating just a telegram showing they have a number of people in the community and go ahead forking the forked coin. BSV will soon follow forking itself BSV2.

Next is the bitcoin dog.  Grin

I guess they have the idea that the market is going to a bull run and this is just a step to get themselves be noticed by most. Otherwise, this could be a way to revive their bitcoin cash if ever there will be investors who'll bite the cat.

They're trying hard, better if they didn't leave support to bitcoin.

Viabtc Founder Reveals BCH Fork Idea Called Bitcoin Cat
~
So there's a lot of bickering  inside the Bitcoin fork coins, and it seems that we are going to see a fork within a fork, lol, how ironic it is.
"we are going to see another fork within a fork"
Isn't BSV the first fort for of a fork?

Do you think it will get support and support from the altcoin market?
We've seen it with BCH and BSV, I won't be surprise to see the same cult-like followers in BTCcat but not enough to prevent another 51% attack. I say just let them be. The more they compete against each other, the more they self destruct. This will probably become another pump and dump coin as some speculators will try to ride the hype, get free coins, and sell them as soon as it hits exchanges.

~ Can a coin change its name??
Definitely, it's decentralised so most likely the name can change in the future.
Decentralization has nothing to do with name changes. Every company/project is free to change their as part of their rebranding for whatever reason they may think of.

They  keep diluting BCH, has BCH not suffer enough, a FORK that use to be more valuable than ETH, suddenly, people are prefering to hold ETH, and they want to dilute it to cat, why doesn't the ower of Coinex revive CET to its glory? all I see is greed and nothig more.

anyway, if it brings some new features that BCH could not, it may gain support from investors/miners; otherwise, it will be worthless

Definitely, it's decentralised so most likely the name can change in the future.

But this is where the problem lies, it's another fork coin is that happens, and we have seen those fork coins doesn't have the much support from the community. So I wouldn't be surprised if people here are not going for this so called Bitcoin Cat or whatever name it will have in the future. Most probably they will get those free coins because of the fork and that's it.

There will be miners that are going to support it, ViaBTC is one of the largest mining pool we have, but the question is, will it be profitable for them?

What are your thoughts if this plan are push through? Bitcoin Cat? What the hell is that name?

Do you think it will get support and support from the altcoin market? Let me hear your comments and arguments.
Im not sure fork coins seems to died out already. Last 2017 and 2018, there are dozens of fork coin to watch out but as we forward to the following years, I guess its all about IEO and new STOs. Then next defi, maybe this will not be a good investment if they go out. Seriously the name is bitcoin cat, aside from being funny, Im not sure how crypto investors would compared this to huge top gaining altcoins of band and chainlink.
