From 2Kings 12:12 (12th Book of the Bible)

Quote
And to masons, and hewers of stone, and to buy timber and hewed stone to repair the breaches of the house of the LORD, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.

And from Proverbs 1:22-33 (New International Version)

Quote
22 "How long will you simple ones love your simple ways? How long will mockers delight in mockery and fools hate knowledge? 23 If you had responded to my rebuke, I would have poured out my heart to you and made my thoughts known to you. 24 But since you rejected me when I called and no one gave heed when I stretched out my hand, 25 since you ignored all my advice and would not accept my rebuke, 26 I in turn will laugh at your disaster; I will mock when calamity overtakes you-- 27 when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind, when distress and trouble overwhelm you. 28 "Then they will call to me but I will not answer; they will look for me but will not find me. 29 Since they hated knowledge and did not choose to fear the LORD, 30 since they would not accept my advice and spurned my rebuke, 31 they will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their schemes. 32 For the waywardness of the simple will kill them, and the complacency of fools will destroy them; 33 but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm."

In Classical Studies at university they touched on the christian bible and to get people to read it they packed it full of violence, sex and all the things that make a good read.  Over time the books were selectively weeded out.

"The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully."

34 “Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
35 For I have come to turn “‘a man against his father,
   a daughter against her mother,
a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law—
36 a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’"

Thanks for clearing that up.

I think Rossi's machine sounds very dubious. If you don't have independent verification, then its not science.

Sorry if I'm being slow Phinnaeus, but I don't understand your post.

I reworded it and highlighted the main points. Sorry for the confusion, but I thought it funny at the time.

I think the following quote belongs on another thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/successful-test-of-cold-fusion-device-customer-darpa-pays-2-million-50303

This is the first of the three times that Rossie went to Bologna for the Presentation, and said during the Presentation there were (unspecified) miraculous signs performed by Rossi, which caused people to believe in his project, but that he would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all the men there.

Religious persecution and violence in the name of a deity (including Jesus/Christ/Christian god) is littered through history.

In John, this is the first of the three times that Jesus goes to Jerusalem for the Passover, and John says that during the Passover Feast there were (unspecified) miraculous signs performed by Jesus, which caused people to believe in his name, but that he would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all men.[4][7]

Occupy London protesters due to be force-able remove from St Paul's in UK. Cannon and now Dean of Cathedral resign.

The only account of Jesus using physical force in any of the Gospels is the 'Cleansing of the Temple' and this violence was against the money lenders not the protesters.

I am not a religious man but I think its pretty clear where Jesus stands on this matter.
