It all depends upon the debt. Certain fines can't be discharged through bankruptcy. I have no idea if his fines would qualify or not.

Thanks for the tl;dr for my earlier post. Smiley

He may have said "Fuck You", but that doesn't mean that he won't have to pay. Both US and Canadian courts have ordered him to pay. Of course we both know that he will never be able to pay, so he will be in perpetual debt.

Iffy, from what I read: he did declare personal bankruptcy. If that judgement has the same legal character as a debt, he did get out of it via bankruptcy.

But in Canadian law, you can't use bankruptcy to duck out of a judgement against you for fraud, civil actions for crimes against a person (eg., assault, rape, wrongful death), alimony, support/maintenance payments, plus any judgment resulting from breaching a fiduciary obligation.

http://www.duhaime.org/LegalResources/Bankruptcy/LawArticle-664/Debts-That-Survive-Bankruptcy.aspx

Here's the tl;dr from the statute:

Quote from: The Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act of Canada
An order of discharge does not release the bankrupt from: any fine, penalty (or) restitution order; ....any debt or liability arising out of fraud, embezzlement, misappropriation or defalcation....

Now this is where the parsing has to be punted to a lawyer. As duhaime.org bluntly says:

Quote
Where there are lawyers and money involved, there are split hairs. as words such as fiduciary duty and fraud are beaten to death.

Many of the exceptions have been challenged and judicially massaged.

(Those exceptions include, I presume with my 'umble common sense, "restitution order".)

So...you not only have to trust him but you also have to trust the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act of Canada. If Facebook won't write the judgment off and give up, you'll also have to trust a judge in a future court case.

Of course, Adam could put the issue to rest by showing a legal document that says or implies that Facebook doesn't have a chance - but he might not be willing to. A responsibility to be transparent will always be at odds with the right to privacy. There's no way around this dilemma except for ordinary judgment calls.

But exactly, no one cares about the facebook spam, and no one cares about any of the other shit either.

Let's see. He HACKED into thousands of facebook accounts, but that doesn't matter. You're still going to put his wallet on your computer and trust him with your social media accounts. That doesn't matter.

He is almost $1 BILLION in debt, but you trust him and are willing to trust him with your money because it doesn't matter.

He showed total contempt for others by being an active neo-nazi leader, but that's not important because his character is irrelevant.

Did I miss anything?

You think he knows how to hack anything? I'm pretty sure he isn't even a coder. So that doesn't make much sense now does it? I go off what makes sense, not off what the media says.

1 Billion dollars, lol (Insert Dr. Evil here...) Isn't he famous for saying "fuck you facebook, I'm not going to pay your ridiculous fee."?

I'm not trusting HIM with anything. I'm trusting that his project is good, and it is what he says it is. Which I fully believe.

Everyone makes stupid decisions when they are young, and he's no different. He's accepted it, apologized, and moved on. Maybe you should do the same thing. I mean, how long ago was this? Almost 20 years now? You're seriously still talking about it? Come on don't you think it's time to worry about more pressing matters?

How did he hack Facebook? I don't know how, but he did, so the fact that he can't code (do you know that for sure?) is irrelevant.

He may have said "Fuck You", but that doesn't mean that he won't have to pay. Both US and Canadian courts have ordered him to pay. Of course we both know that he will never be able to pay, so he will be in perpetual debt.

You are, in fact, trusting him if you are trusting his project.

Do I have to be a "Nazi supporter" to think something is a good idea?

is someone a nazi if they make some regrettable decisions when they were young?

Cases in point:

The former lead singer of RaHoWa https://nowtoronto.com/news/a-racist-no-longer/ ...

and the singer-twins of Prussian Blue: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2165342/Prussian-Blue-twins-Lynx-Lamb-Marijuana-changed-Nazis-peace-loving-hippies.html

People do change.

interesting about this viral.. hopefully it will catch on to others outside digital currency

It might...

I think it will. For sure.

Myself, I'm still mulling it over. Being crypto-tied-up and fiat-broke gives me that luxury.  Roll Eyes

Who cares about FB? WTF Lets pull all your records and see what's on them. Give me a break! Hes not running for president,, hes making a shitcoin. Who the fu@!# cares?? Be mad he dumped his coins on everyone or something legit. Not this fb nazi spam crap.

It's no wonder crypto has such a bad reputation. So many idiots around here think they are the "Wolf of Wall Street" and are here for the quick buck. Then they cry when the real Wolves take all their money. It's just sick.

I haven't done too bad either. I was able to sell some at 14k. Not enough. Rebought on the way down too. Looks like its gonna pop back up so its all good in the hood. They need to get some more sponsors. Maybe they will come up with a more attractive price point or something in the future. Ive heard there may be some interest out there and they are tweaking the platform before taking on any new customers?? We will see what happens. Im still holding and being patient. The fact that it did work for Burst with a lot less nodes is encouraging. Thanks for your review.

Sure, I'd be more likely to entertain something that actually matters. Even if I don't agree with your statements. But exactly, no one cares about the facebook spam, and no one cares about any of the other shit either. Let's just see how he does with this particular project and base statements off that, shall we?

As of right now, all my holdings in VIRAL are profit after selling off what I needed to to get my money back, but in all reality I am thinking I'm gonna regret having to sell those coins down the line.

I know you don't feel that way. And I know that you don't agree.

But a couple question.

Are you a nazi supporter? Are you a spam supporter? Are you account hacking supporter?

IS your business pro nazi?

Do I have to be a "Nazi supporter" to think something is a good idea?

is someone a nazi if they make some regrettable decisions when they were young? Things NEVER get blown out of proportion in the media.

Until something is proven to be something it isn't. Until VIRAL lies, and doesn't deliver what they say, UNTIL ANY sort of inappropriate behavior takes place... I support it.

If this is some sort of problem for you, I'm sorry. But it isn't for me. It also isn't for BURST, in any way.

This is all ridiculous, really.

Sounds cool.....you guys got any stats for the BURST campaign ?

What sort of stats are you looking for?

The price spiked up like 15% right after the campaign.

The volume has been rising quickly since the campaign, and stays at an overall higher level than before it.

The mentions on twitter are more than before it.

If you want specific numbers on these things I don't know on some of them, but I can tell you that recently the network size has had about another 4 PetaBytes joining, after the VIRAL campaign, of course I can't tell if that was the cause of it, but I'm sure it played a part at least.
