I was wondering why MCXNow was bragging about using C++ for everything and using XML instead of JSON for their public API.

Now that I know that RealSolid is behind MCXNow these bad choices make sense...

Does MCXNow have referral program?  I think that's where Vircurex gets a lot of its users.
I always found that odd considering it gets you a 4.5% transaction fee... when really, a reasonable transaction fee would be like 0.2%.

MCXNow seems decent , at least it has better software than most of similar exchanges.

I had the impression long ago that SolidCoin was a scammer and a thief, he ran off with 250 bitcoins for example supposedly.

An exchange built and run by that guy just doesn't seem like a good idea.

How many more bitcoins does he need to run off with before people stop throwing their bitcoins to him?

Maybe all those stories were just malicious libel though and he can be trusted with huge amounts of other people's money?

I think the CoinHunter account was used by at least two people. This was a while ago but as I recall, one of the them was a good man, but stopped working on solidcoin and posting because of an illness, or an illness in the family. The other person was often insulting, and posted a lot more than the original good guy, and that is how CoinHunter got his bad reputation.

Don't believe the FUD in this thread.
MCXNOW is 100% legit. I traded 100 BTCs in and out of there with zero problems.
RealSolid is the only admin on any exchange I've seen who actually helps people ... today he spent like 45 min with someone who got hacked (not the exchange's fault ... guy got a virus on his windows ) ... he lost 1 BTC! 45 minute assistance for 1 btc lost ... try losing 1 btc on btc-e and contact admins there see if they care Smiley or Vircurex

People using MCXNow need to search the username CoinHunter with RealSolid.

That will tell you a lot about the owner of the exchange. Do your homework before sending money to an anonymously owned exchange.

There's no way I'll use that exchange if what you're saying is true. Need to do some digging into this realsolid guy.

I didn't know about that, that's not cool.

I assure you all this thread wasn't created as some kinda bounty though, and my main argument still holds strong I believe. The exchange itself has a very strong foundation compared to BTC-e and Vircurex. Volume aside, it's a strong exchange.

People were paid in mincoins to promote mincoins and mcxnow here few days ago. Numbers of threads were closed by moderators as they were coming like one each minute.

And here it goes again - mcxnow spammers. How much you got to post it here?
This is what pisses me off.

You have a bunch of stupid bars next to your username so you feel you can say "oh yeah mcxnow sucks"

Well hey, how about you substantiate your claim? WHY should vircurex be supported over mcxnow?

It isn't spam if your position has no fundamental basis.

Leave my bars alone  Grin

Well, mcxnow spammers are pissing me off with their amateurish attempts to promote (read: spam) that site here in planned and often paid campaigns.

But I've seen one banned this morning, hopefully that's what is going to happen with all of you until you stop opening thread after thread after thread about it.

And I don't give a shit, let alone support vircurex but I don't see vircurex members spamming this forum unlike mcxnow one.

Wow, guys, if MCXNow promotion is getting spammy... please stop.  I am positive no one is getting paid to promote this site.  The problem is that the exchange is good.  No seriously it is good.  However, RealSolid is a bit *notorious* around these parts, so any project he creates is branded a scam.  (Do your own research, however, I personally think much of the historical accusations have been unwarranted and based on disagreements with the guy-- not scamming behavior.)

Anyway, I'm actually going to request that my fellow MCXNow fans keep it cool.  I believe in the exchange because it's fast, reliable and cheap.  If it really is a good site, and we're not a bunch of liars, I think we can and will attract new adopters by simple organic discussion.  It may not happen as fast as you want so that we can get more MNC movement, but that's ok.  Otherwise, spamming BTC Talk just makes the site appear illegit.

Actually people were being paid to spam mincoin, by RealSolid, the owner of the exchange who obviously has a financial interest in seeing both mincoin and mcxnow succeed. I believe the price was 10 MNC per thread posted? Any further bets that SandyCohen and RealSolid are the same person?

Just checked out this exchange, the interface looks quite good actually. Put a link of it in your sig if you want to promote it, like how I promote a certain scammer Wink

Good idea, I should have a sig anyhow haha.

Did you consider perhaps mcxnow isn't being targeted because there is virtually no money on the site compared to Vircurex, the second biggest alt coin exchange after btc-e.com

Once again, another argument that has some of its basis on the fact that the exchange isn't popular yet. Not saying this isn't a legitimate point, just that it still follows the same overall anti-mcxnow theme. Only way to find out is to give it a shot. Also there is definitely enough money on there to make a hack worthwhile. 291 BTC in buys on that website, 119761 MNC for sale. You'd still be rollin in it if you hacked them.

+1 This recommendation.  I'll probably end up doing that once I stop being lazy and update my sig.
