Topic: Vitalik Buterin proposes Ethereum use Bitcoincash blockchain for transactions (Read 309 times)

Ethereum 2.0 has been proposed for quite some time now. If the temporary solution is to go for BCH block chain, then let it be at least, it will solve the problem of scalability that has been the complain of enthusiasts. All the same, if Vitalik brings it up and originally lunch it on ethereum blockchain then better.
Using BCH blockchain, will give more credence to BCH platform.

it might be good for BCH, but not for ethereum. ethereum users will begin to lose their trust. ethereum is a standalone platform, depending on other blockchain is not a good solution. scalability might be done if you use this method. but that doesn't eliminate the problem. blockchain ethereum must be updated immediately.

that post looks like it was responsible for the market plunge. i doubt if ethereum will retain it second spot with this kind of update. totally not acceptable. lets assume it ends up like that and never taking into effect.

Everyone knows the suffering of Ethereum due to it's low scalability. The use and adoption of Ethereum has been affected by it. The founder of Ethereum now proposes Ethereum use Bitconcashs blockchain to do transactions as BCH is much more scalable and transaction fees lower, that until the Ethereum 2.0 is launched.

I guess that's just a bad joke? While Ethereum is one of our most trusted platforms as decentralized, I don't even want to think about the possibility of it being real.

Compare rates on different exchanges & swap.
Well, it is good he is doing this only on short-term basis. BHC can actually be useful short-term but I doubt it will be a proper Blockchain long-term.
Any true believer who doesn't understand what BHC is trying to offer will easily jump ship.
I have no doubt in my mind that the cryptocurrency will not be a proper Blockchain long-term.

Sometimes Vitalik looks like Dr. Stein trying to kill his own creature, I would understand that he said that only if he were joking. If Ethereum needs a temporary solution to their scalability issues, they must find it by themselves and not relying on another project.

in my opinion,..
if this become reality, i think this is just for a while mate, until the ethereum 2.0 launch in early 2020
because scalability was the main issue on ethereum network now

AFAIK, higher scalability and higher TPS means faster transactions. Transaction speed is the problem Etherum is facing right now.
But I too don't believe depending on another blockchain would be beneficial to Ethereum. They should better hurry and bring up their updated blockchain.
Really, I saw Ethereum has very good transaction speed, since its latest network congestion occured in 2017 with Crypto Kitty and other huge ICOs run at the same time. Update for their blockchain to improve user experience is good, but there is no need to hurry because it will be better to implement upgrade without technical issues.

Low scalability is a nonsense phrase that altcoins love to talk about. So what if you have bigger blocks and faster TPS? Eventually,,, you have to scale if you have more txs than your network can handle and that is a sign of success! BSV or BCH or whatever will never have this problem not because they can scale but because they will never have the success needed to scale.

I cannot wait to see the 2.0 Version of Etherium this can be a reason to make the market of Etherium become competitive again. But for now, let's trust the decision made by the founder I'm sure they plan this well and come to the conclusion that it's good to use Bitcoin Cash's Blockchain for the reason to lower the transaction fee.

We have differed about this thing, but for the Etherium Team, this is the good thing to do especially the price today has fallen off to almost 200$.
In the worse scenario, the Etherium price will still remain if no actions are done before they launch Etherium 2.0.

we've been waiting a long time, the problem of scalability ethereum has been around a few years ago. and not overcoming this problem, but he suggests using the Bitcoincash Blockchain.

this was a very unexpected surprise, his statement explained that until now ethereum had still not found a solution to the problem of scalability.

It sounds like vitalik will become the next team a part of roger and jihan wu lol. I guess we need more information about that. Seriously this is an unexpected thing.

Yup, this is scary if it's for real. Is Ethereum in such a trouble they have to team up with BCash?!
This can be a super news for BCash, or can be just something to rise BCash price.

I didn't find this written on Vitalik's twitter, so for now I'll threat this only as rumor.

vitalik seems to have given up on overcoming the problem of scalability ethereum, he suggested using the bitcoin cash blockchain, and this is definitely not a solution. ethereum is a standalone blockchain, so it shouldn't depend on other blockchain.

did the development of ethereum 2.0 not find results?

if that is true, all users will definitely be disappointed and will slowly leave it.

that sounds weird for me and hat about so many solutions that already created by vitalik in the past? It sounds like vitalik will become the next team a part of roger and jihan wu lol. I guess we need more information about that. Seriously this is an unexpected thing.

People may have different reasonings in favor or oppose but IMO anything is better than just waiting for Ethereum 2 for a year or two. It would be beneficial to both of these coins as they are not the competitor of one another.

I'd like to differ. A year or a couple of years is not a very long time considering the work, technical difficulties it would take and the confusion that it may create with the users. Ethereum is holding till date and would hold until the upgrade. They should rather focus on the development of Ethereum 2.0 than looking for other experimentations.

yes I agree with you, this will only make users confused. he shouldn't need to release such a statement. ethereum users will remain faithfully waiting for ethereum 2.0 regardless of time.

if he says it's better to use the bitcoincash blockchain, that means the blockchain ethereum is already unreliable.

that is the stupidest thing that i have ever heard come out of Vitalik!

as a standalone blockchain/network you never want your coin to rely on anything else. specially when you are claiming that it is "decentralized" (although ethereum is far from it) and using another altcoin's blockchain is like relying on that for survival.
not to mention that BCH scalability is even worse than ethereum's because it is a copy of bitcoin and bitcoin by design is not supposed to process spam transactions that a token like ETH has.

the funny thing about ethereum team is that they have been promising solutions for scalability for at least 3 years and every day ethereum blockchain grows more while nothing is changing and they have not delivered anything yet Cheesy

Cheap publicity stunt that's what I suspect this to be and they won't succeed with whatever they're trying to achieve. So the second most traded cryptocurrency that haven't gotten much attention due to the bullish news surrounding bitcoin in the recent months decide to adopt the blockchain of the competitor (BCH) of their competitor (BTC) more like saying, "the enemie of my enemie is my friend".

This might just be an attempt to try to promote BCH as a better blockchain than BTC which will attract investors and slow down the rate at which bitcoin is killing all the altcoins. I don't buy whatever they're trying to sell. There most be another way that doesn't involve fake Bitcoin.

I think this is the best thing to do now till ETH upgrade time comes if the team are sure they can handle the experiment then they should go ahead,we all know how cheap the transaction rate of BCH is so its really not a bad idea

We can't keep waiting for ethereum 2.0 which is not coming any time sooner and the idea buterin is bring might make ETH hold up for the time being til ETH 2.0 is finally here
