Word of advice for some people out there. If you mine more than 10% of the pool combined hashrate 90% of your earnings will be sent to the faucet. This happens automatically in NOMP server-side code. The GPU arms race will start sunday evening after I have upgraded the infrastructure and the anti-DoS attack rules will be removed from NOMP. That said all of the people abusing the system today have lost 90% of all of their rewards so perhaps they will learn to wait until things are in a state where the load can be handled and sustained or go start their own mining pool with strong servers. Everyone else needs to make sure they stay under 10% which should be simple. Have a great weekend.

Right now faucet growth from ~110k to 191k.

Lasybear, thanks for all your work on X11. Would love you to release a Pluck (SUP) GPU miner for AMD, but anyways.. I have been mining Vanilla and I don't think 90% is going to donation faucet, maybe 10% of what you mined. Yesterday I was over the 10% limit I think, but the pools have gone from 1GH to 6GH overnight and I don't think many people are going to fall under the mining more than 10% of nethash now.  I also know that Wolf has been mining directly into the faucet, causing it to grow.  So keep mining, this coin looks real promising.  Might even have a few good new pools tomorrow or Monday.

Yeah, I noticed that, too.

I haven't been able to get registered on that forum, no reply to email, either.  Anyway one poster in that thread shows a clip of his  280x at 129Mh/s.  I have only been able to get to about 81 Mh/s so I know I am missing something.  I would appreciate anyone else divulging their findings.

my 290's wont go past 20mhs whats wrong ?
try with amd 14.9 drivers, or someone who have r9 290 can upload their .bin file

edit: also after driver update remember to delete old .bin files from the miner folder, THIS IS the most IMPORTANT part.

Any chance that dev has a twitter account or IRC room/name he uses so that pool ops and exchanges can talk with him? If so, please post here.
Thanks

The OP shows a link for sgminer_64.  But it isn't a 64 bit miner.  Is a 64 bit miner available?

?? it is a 64bit miner. there isn't a kernal  compiled sgminer32bit yet.

I see.  So 64 bit miner but kernels aren't.  That explains the .bin file that ends in whirlcoinTahitigw64l4

It was only the wind.

Saw it - ended up at the github to see there is no build system.

It will be uploaded soon, im pretty confident in Johns capabilities as a dev so I didn't mind.

Also he has fully proven his ability to code so far.

Not concerned about his ability to code - more concerned that there isn't any solid proof the binaries were built from the source on the github.

Anyway, looking past that, the Linux x64 binary has a daemon, not a GUI. Is there instructions on how to interact with this?

IRC channel was just made so John is not there yet. Official/Development discussion is being held on vanillacoin.net/forums and you can find "john-connor" there, he is the dev. You can send him an e-mail through the forums or you can use bitmessage to reach him directly: BM-NC49AxAjcqVcF5jNPu85Rb8MJ2d9JqZt

He reads bitmessage pretty often, give him a bit of time to reply since he has family issues now for a day or so. Minerspool and ocminer are also waiting for instructions atm.
