I guess that depends on the definition of violence. This page claims that self-strangulation is non-violent, but seems to me like it would fall under the definition of "behavior involving physical force intended to hurt, damage, or kill someone or something" - it uses physical force, and is intended to kill someone.
Either way, stating an opinion isn't violent since it doesn't involve physical force.
The Canadian Law that Quickseller linked to in his first post states:

If I were to address him directly and post something like "Quickseller, go kill yourself", or post instructions how to do it, I would be technically breaking the law. Quickseller, if you DO respect and care about what I post, let me know so I can be more careful about what I write in the future. Otherwise, it's status quo. Thanks!

Then again, perhaps they are a member (no pun intended - member - get it?) of the BDSM community that get off on violence in their consensual self gratification.
Then again, the question would be are they consenting to be violent towards themselves if they agree to do it in the first place are they a violent person?

As of now, you have Vod in your trust list, and as a result, I believe that you should be made aware of the above.
Although the inclusion of someone in your trust list is not a direct endorsement of everything someone says or does, I do believe it is an endorsement of their behavior and business practices.
If you do not condone this kind of behavior, then please remove and/or exclude Vod from your trust list. In order to remove Vod from your trust list you will have to do the following:
Go to Profile --> Trust --> Trust Settings --> Delete Vod from your trust list (or add a '~' in front of Vod's name) --> Update
If you decline to remove Vod from your trust list, then I will make it publicly known that you condone the kind of behavior displayed in the above linked post.

I really wish the guy would kill himself already
This statement is fairly clearly an implied threat, and is most likely illegal in Canada.
While these kinds of implied threats are very clearly very wrong, especially when unprovoked, I believe the community as a whole should very strongly condemn this kind of behavior, especially when then author is not simply frustrated with someone, but rather has acknowledged that he really means it when he makes these kinds of statements.
I was surprised when I read the comment that Vod made as it was indeed unprovoked and rather distasteful. I even went as far as excluding him from my trust network (for personal reasons, I don't intend it to impact Vod).
But honestly, I don't believe you took offense to it -- and just used it as a chip to try get at him. First the quasi-blackmail, and now this thread is clearly too much. You took his bait, hook, line and sinker.
And "I really wish the guy would kill himself already" is not an implied threat, not even close. There is no honest interpretation by someone with a command of English to believe that Vod is implying he will harm you in any shape or form.
I would just like to state for the record that I do not condone violence; QS is lying again.
