I will not vote here, because you didn't include www.FaucetHub.io - I belive that mexicantarget will make the best micropayment platform.

Please add it to the poll list.

Thank you!

Yes, this option should be on the list also. He knows the difficulties of faucet owners and is an old and experient member of this forum. We have fast support from him and it's very easy to locate him here on forum.

Sad to know faucetbox is closing down and i used to love faucetbox facuets and have run few faucets based on their script also in past. Xapo can be alternative however if user mexicantarget can create something similar to faucetbox than his faucethub.io can be popular and i have seen him developing really cool projects.

It's not hard to write your own faucet from scratch, using json-rpc and running your own node.
I made a proof of concept which you can use to study how to do this, you can use the code as a basis if you wish:
https://github.com/mocacinno/simple_testnet_faucet

you are correct in theory, but not in practice

faucet have very low profit margins

running a full node requires a (somewhat good) VPS. even running an SPV wallet (electrum) requires a VPS.

most faucets are hosted on shared hostings instead, with no ability to install/run custom software.

it's cheaper and it what's get the work done.

I didn't voted on this poll because there is no good enough alternatives.
Xapo can be good option because all claims go directly to wallet without any treshold. But Xapo requires registration and users can be asked to send verification documents. This is not what mostly people would like to do.
Epay is bad option. I heard many bad comments about their service. They also requires registration. And they have terrible support.
Maybe Paytoshi is one of alternatives. I don't know much about this service, but it looks similar to Faucetbox.
Open source faucets are worse option in general. It's hard to create it. It's bad for users, because they need to reach treshold in every faucet. This is the reason why micropayment services were created.
I hope that Faucethub.io will be best alternative when it will be launched.

I think xapo is best alternative, paytoshi and epay are not so popular. And mexicantarget is building his own micropayment system, so we should include him in poll too, and as i can see here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/faucethubio-microwallet-9-coins-dice-jackpotgamesexchange-1672870 he has very good feedback.

Too bad faucetbox is closing. I also voted Xapo as an alternative for some of the same reasons: the money go directly into your wallet.

It will be great if the closing of faucetbox produces in turn more xapo faucets. That would be beneficial for xapo users.

if you trust me...(be careful i'm redtrusted)(lol)
Send me 10k satoshi and I send 9800 satoshi on your faucetbox.

This offer is just for you...

"Interesting" offer. So I'd risk 10k satoshi, I certainly lose 2k satoshi to recover 4k satoshi.
No wonder you are red-trusted Cheesy Thanks, but no.
Even if I'd care of those 2 cents, your offer is terrible.

For me, Xapo is the first alternative to FaucetBox. That's why I use Xapo in my faucet, you can deposit or withdraw a little amount to the Xapo account unlike FaucetBOX. But some folks never like the Xapo. Maybe, it's because of their support.

You do have a valid point there. Many hate XAPO and I think that's one of the reasons for this poll.
However, if you keep rather small amounts there, I find it better than FaucetBox. But that's me.

i do not understand your calculation...
you just lose 200 satoshi...the 200 satoshi are my faucetbox fees...

Hm, you are right on the 200 vs 2000. I calculated badly. Sorry about that.
However, to risk 10k (risk meaning sending money to an unknown person) to salvage 4k is still a no go. And the most important part: I don't want to salvage those 4k, the amount is too small and I just wrote about them to prove a point.

I'm most of time right (lol)
it was just a service and you can be sure...i would never lie for 10k satoshi...
But do not worry...I will not lose my "Balance: 133939 satoshi" on faucetbox...if faucetbox held word.

I am really sad to see faucetbox closing down.

However I dont think we need to look for much alternatives because our old and trusted friend mexicantarget has come up with a new idea : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/faucethubio-microwallet-9-coins-dice-jackpotgamesexchange-1672870

Other than that I guess Paytoshi is good, ePay asks for signup which I do not like again and I have no experience with open-source projects.

 Shocked oh? really?

Sad to know that my first knowledge of bitcoin involves using faucets through faucetbox. Another option I think is Paytoshi and so far its ok for me. I never try a xapo or other alternatives.

It's a surprise for me that FaucetBox is closing.
However, XAPO sounds like the best alternative because the user has access to the earned money in every second, no matter the amount. It offers better management.
For example I have now some 4k satoshi in faucetbox (yes, this much I use faucets Smiley ) which I guess I will never withdraw. If it would have been XAPO, the money would have been in my wallet, no matter how small the amount is.
