You may be right, please post here on thread those registrars offering this service at the moment apart from godaddy and 1&1 which requires your I.D verification before fully activating your account.

IMO this is not worth buying, $0.99 .coms are offered as promotions by many large registrars all the time........ I have even seen promos for free .coms for first year etc.
