With massive losses, Bitmain has no resources to support BCH. Illiquid BCH falls further hitting Bitmain balance sheet. Suppliers cut off credit lines & buyers wary to purchase equipment. IPO Canceled. Only solution - significant down round and VCs take over? Interesting to see!

Absolutely fucking hilarious.

Why on earth did they get seduced by Ver on BCH? Utterly retarded, a real school boy error.

What will Bitmain do now going forward, just switch to solely mining bitcoin again & write off their BCH related losses or can they afford to do that?

you guys making me gonna experience whisky as well, i never really drunk it, so just how is the best to start with it .... ?

If it makes you feel any better, I've given several tries over the years to try to get into whisky, but my palette is quite averse to the strong bitterness of the beverage. Do not enjoy it, and it somehow feels wrong cutting it with ice or water as some have advised me to do.

Can't do Tequila either, for what it's worth. Had one particularly bad club evening in the early 90's that I still haven't fully recovered from. Even a sniff of anything agave-based results in terrifying full-body nausea that totally shuts me down for at least 5-10 minutes.

Then there's that time I fell out of a limo in front of The Viper Room, andpuked all over their sidewalk, after consuming obscene amounts of white wine at a pre-party. Needless to say, I was left in the limo with my head in a box while the group went to party inside.

Man... Memory lane of the 90's.

It was an overall good decade. Coincidentally, the same decade I decided I didn't ever want to deal with XX-chromosomal life-partners ever again.
THX gonna give it a shot anyway, just to know WHY I DIDN'T MISSED IT ALL THAT TIME or to be PROVEN WRONG AND BEEN MISSING OUT ON SOMETHING GOOD

i know those puke things, it was been a long time, but i shared this summer my PUKE session on that 3*** belgium resto as well, puked all over that terrace, and a friend of me as well cause he saw me puking Roll Eyes even missed 3 dishes or something (really regret that evening) BUT those are the evening that taste doesn't matter anymore Roll Eyes
maybe gonna try a whisky this weekend depends how strong my stomach feels and how deep BTC is @that time Wink

You are not serious ?
Come on, hang in here. It's tough, but your contribution is valued by many posters..
FWIW, over 5 years, I have seen a lot of posters reach this stage. Many recovered their mojo.

I saw red and got a bit cranky. Feeling much better that I've attempted to resolve the beer issue, that admittedly has been nagging me for some time - wasn't sure how to practically handle making good on the offer, after blowing the call. Being able to make outgoing payments with coin control somewhat ameliorated my OpSec concerns, after some consideration.

Not planning on going anywhere, barring unforeseen circumstances.

I enjoy this thread and the bantz, save for the few I have ignored.

Again, sorry for the drama.

Was not my finest moment - Wordy-man pissed me off real good, and I lost my cool.

I still think it's best I formally bow-out of any planning for a $100k party, however. That will most certainly blow my OpSec, and not worth the risk.

good the joke is cleared out, and it has been done in a classy way, so that been done .... keep on the 100K party myth and just say to PM those you would like to invite and if theres non, then just have youre own private 100k party, cause if i don't get that PM for the 100K party.... then i'm not gonna be bored about it and still have one no matter what

Some scared noobs and crafty whales selling in Dec. What a surprise  Grin Trolls trying to scare the hodlers with 1K talks. Bring it on baby! I regularly buy with 2/3 of my salary and I just initiated another transfer to an exchange. It had been this way the last years. The difference is that I buy a lot more precious bitcoins now  Wink
Indeed, I don't buy the thing BTC will go around 1k, too low now that the mass knows the existence of cryptos.

I am not sure about the beginning of 2019 but we won't go lower than 2.5k imho.

The last month has significantly dropped the price instead of a mild downtrend throughout the mid-2018. That means we already had a consistent crash, there could be another one that could hit the 2k range but my prediction is big players are preparing everything for the next bull run.

In my opinion, there are very major fuck-ups on the horizon.

The Interest rate hikes will blow up everything. The whole system will collapse. Banks won't be able to provide cash. People will lose all their savings in banks.

If they don't raise the rates, It will be hyperinflation then. The whole system will collapse anyway. This time asset prices will do full moon. GOLD= $10k. A loaf of potato = $50. People will die of starvation.

They can't pick their poison.

Banks will go poof!. People will panic. People will seek a mobile asset which they can spend easily which is also a store of value. That's not gold because it is not mobile.

We all know what it is.

BTC will be $100k, maybe even $250k but it will also bring a world war along with it. Then partying in Amsterdam won't look like a bright idea.   Grin

I hate to have merited this.  But its prescient imho.

WoW even missed that post, yeah what if BTC is @250k, but DOLLAR is worth "shit+SHIT=shit" and ..... , have to work on my opsec cause pitchforks will be all over my place for my BTC's

in a future we might be playing the game call of duty WWbtc or something.... hope it doesn't get to any WARS but economic-panic could create anything

Both of my family members who could actually afford to invest have asked me if now is a good time to buy bitcoins. I guess they've sat on the sidelines for long enough that they can finally see a buying opportunity.

I usually don't give advice, just tell them what I'm doing. I'm taking my last euros and buying at $3300.

I told them they may need to wait until May or June before things start to move upward.

i also never-NEVER push people into it, also just say that i'm in and will stay in BTC, so nobody can blame me ever if they get fearful and sell or etc and i also don't expect they be carrie me on there hands if it skyrockets .... i just tell them what that i'm a BTC buyer and maybe "totally" not a technical expert guy, but i do provide people useful places to learn about it and read about it, from there they have to decide for themselves.
good GOOD you buying those BTC with those worthless euro's, keep doing that (NO investment advice whatsoever Roll Eyes )

TLDR:
Not traded or withdrawn yet, but with a UK Bank a/c it looks like a damn fast way to get fiat in - you're loaded up in minutes.
DYOR
I have recently withdrawn strait to my uk bank account. It was about one hour to show in my uk account

Impressive.  Any other issues?

2900$ is the last support that could very likely not hold, and should it not then we can easily go to 3 digits again.

$2,9xx will be the bottom

but bounce will sharply, you will do not have time to buy, so it is better to buy now

$120000 in 2024 Confirmed
Anyone used GDAX in London (GBP/BTC)?

You'll have to tell us how it goes if you do use them. I've also been thinking of hooking up now they supposedly have faster payments sorted out.

Well I sent a few quid in at 1.00am and it was there in minutes.

I had a coinbase account way back to try it out (it sucked) so I hadn't used it in years, but it did mean I didn't need to go through registration again to be on GDAX (or Coinbase Pro as it's called).

I have not bought yet (or tested withdrawls etc), I just wanted to be 'ready' and check it out.

Initial impressions - albeit it was past my bedtime:

Normal-looking exchange trading deck.
Spread was as little as a penny up to around £10, looks like pretty good liquidity.
Pairs of GBP and EUR with ETH / ETC / Bcash / LTC and a short list of some crypto pairs inc USDC / ZEC and er... BAT
You can see a USD exchange but not use it from a UK ip.
Didn't look into whether margin trading available.  API available.
GBP/USD price equivalence while I was there was a little over the actual price on Stamp - looked little under £15 more, make of that what you will.
Maker fees 0.0% taker 0.3% I haven't looked for into volume discounts, but it did seem to show a 30 day trade volume.
Withdrawal limit £10,000 /day - you can apply for higher.

I dont see support at 2900.  But certainly above 1000.  At 3 digits, BTC is failing as a project. Possible but unlikely.

I would estimate that $1500 needs to hold, and I expect it to do so, some time in late 2019.

I think we'll be back over $1200 by the 2024 halving. #hopeful

Whisky I mostly enjoy for exploring what the fuck is going on with taste buds.

Anything in particular that you'd recommend? I'd like to up my whiskey tasting game a bit.
Depends what you're into.

I'm quite fond of Caol Ila 12/18 which is peaty, but not as much as Laphroaig, and with a buttery/oily mouth feel that I quite appreciate.

My favourite whisky (so far with my limited experience) would be a Glenmorangie Signet though, which is quite sweet and actually has easily discernible notes of toffee, chocolate and less obvious coffee that you don't normally find in whisky.

As far as non-scotch goes, Japanese whiskies that I enjoyed were any Hibiki, Yamazaki, and Nikka Coffey Grain. They're much tamer than scotch, but interesting drinks nonetheless.

Haven't really played with American whiskies yet, but Maker's Mark is quite nice and very cheap.

Any recommendations that you have?

you guys making me gonna experience whisky as well, i never really drunk it, so just how is the best to start with it .... ? like when out eating its something to finish with together with a coffee or .... never was a whisky fan but as a grow older maybe my taste has been changing Wink
