I wouldn't call it a "breakout" just yet.
1-week chart EMA fast-average is still diverging to the downside. Volume is steadily diminishing which could mean that selling is slowing - or could mean that demand is slowing and we've just seen the bulltrap prior to breaking down.
Still 55% of traders are still short. Pleanty more to be squeezed, and short term bottom looks in. 50% retracement is holding so far. If it holds and rises a couple of hundred higher from the current price, then it's looking good IMO.

The frist time teather's value dropped like this was around 22nd April 2017.
So it's happened before. it will probably happen again. A run on the currency is to be expected, especally as it just broke out of the decending triangle, and looks conviningly like phase B of an elliot wave just begun.

No. I'm long - always have been.
I just would like to be holding real value, not fake monopoly-money value that's all. And can be doing without this type of stuff which gives the enemies of bitcoin lots of ammo...

Yeah. If BFX hadn’t made that statement, things might have gotten away on them. Still can if they can’t carry through.
Edit: still a $500 spread between BFX and Bitstamp.

There is likely some network connectivity out there. Then I go check out the nearest island to see what's available for those wanting to go grab a bite to eat or re-supply.
Definitely no fees. Separate from Blue Frontiers' project. Hopefully staying under the radar, learning from BF's mistake of thinking that if you try to inform the public they won't still shit all over it because "freedom is scary".

Honestly, you can't blame doomy predictions of Bitfinex on people. The place lacks transparency to a massive degree, so this kind of speculation is always going to be the case. Only time will tell, so far they have proved their skeptics wrong.
