It wasn't that long ago when a good chunk of my net worth depended on the amount of gas in my car....

Bitcoin being suppressed by cartel

It's abundantly clear in hindsight that big money pushed us up to unsustainable levels specifically to spend the rest of the year shorting us into despair oblivion. Average Joe had nothing to do with it, that much is clear.

BTW I posted that thread 2 or 3 weeks before this post.

If 1% of my net is in BTC (if 1% counts), then Twat #4 dropping by.  If someone only has 1% in Bitcoin, then the downside is very limited.  Should BTC go to, say, $40,000, then that 1% changes to around 5%.  That risk:reward profile looks pretty good to me.

I don't think that it is easy to purchase straight btc in ret funds.
As a surrogate, there is that swedish ETN (Bitcoin Tracker One, ticker CXBTF in US) that you can theoretically purchase for $ in US now.

You can do it in Fidelity, under two conditions:
1. You have to sign some kind of agreement that says that you are, basically, a most aggressive investor who may lose all of your money.
2. It also costs extra $50 fee for a foreign settle, so this only make some sense for larger purchases.

Strangely enough, you can see the quote on Ameritrade, but rep on the phone told me that I cannot buy it (at least in ret. account), even though I have the most aggressive status there too (to trade options, albeit very infrequently).

Mmm opening WO, and first thing to see Just an Arrow UP thats what i like

Not only an arrow up but the ONLY option.

And now with the call light on - which I thought was important.  I also used #FF9900 as the base colour - which is Bitcoin orange.
CCMF!!!

If this pump-dump scheme will repeat some cycle, bitcoin will be considered a very bad store of value, and indeed it will be.
A good store of value is something that everybody trust is worth something now and will be worth something in the future, and that mantain value over time

You don't get to be a store of value without an insane amount of wreckage on the way up, especially when it starts literally at zero.

Bitcoin fans simultaneously believe it's much bigger and much smaller than it actually is. To be a global store of value, and a stable one, it has to be many times larger than it is now which means plenty more outrage to come.

Anyone parking their retirement funds in this at this stage is a twat.

I am a twat.

Twat #2 checking in.

Number of shorts is on the ATH so it makes sense to reduce the amount of them... so I expect that the price will go up
