That was a well played bull trap. *golf clap* Now is the same going to happen to the bears..or have we entered the long slow death. Hmm..I am starting to think the latter.

Same things seem to keep happening, every time there is a move the market exhausts itself before completing the jump to get out of the rut its been stuck in.
Its really quite unhealthy.

The lower low has invalidated the EW count I was looking at. I think downside risk is significant at this point and I am looking at $7.5kish.   Upside potential seems marginal for now and until we (if)break above $8.75k it appears to be more sideways. Keep shaking..I am sure a few more satoshi will rattle free. I know..here is a plan..lets drive down the price so we can let bankers and wall street goons have a great entry price. Ya..they are the same guys that have been screwing us over for decades but who cares..we are bitcoiners...we have magical internet money.


I wonder how long until Google and Facebook roll out a (centralized but they wont care)crypto. Pretty sure at that point this space will be relegated to a niche market. A quaint plaything of the rich and disenchanted.

Actually, your point about proportionality is very true; however, I think that I am attempting to make a slightly different point, and part of my thinking and ongoing BTC strategy is that if we have been in bitcoin for a while, then we should be attempting to plan ahead, which is to sell bitcoin as the price goes up and buy  BTC as the price goes down...

 For some reason, I am continuing to think of our current situation as a going down situation, rather than a going up situation.. even though we did have lows of $5,920 in early February and lows of $6,440 in early April.

So the question of whether BTC prices are currently going up or down would depend upon some of our own personal buy/sell actions, so for example if guys (and gal) were to have stocked up a bit more BTC during those early February and early April BTC price dips, then these peeps might still consider BTC prices to be going up from those lower price points, yet our most recent BTC price movements have been largely down from $9,950 in early May, so I suppose I am a bit bothered if guys (and gal) are selling BTC when the price is going down from $9,950 to presently below $8k because of that recent BTC price direction seems to be the current one that justifies either buying or HODLing... So, yeah, in my thinking should justify either buying or HODLing rather than selling (unless you largely immediately replace any sold BTC proportions).

On the other hand, I do recognize that some well trained HODLing guys and gal have differing strategies, but when sirazimuth posted, he seems to be conceding that his choice to buy gold constitutes a bit of bad timing and deviation from best practices, and perhaps admitted capitulation, even if the overall quantity of capitulation was not very LARGE in the full scheme of things.  From my perspective, sirazimuth still seems to be conceding that he is acting against what he believes to be the better (best) practices in the BTC HODL camp... so that is part of the reason for my seemingly holier than thou and projected sadness lecture in his direction.    

Your making me post this response makes me so sad that I can hardly take it any more.  Rosewater, you have any suggestions about how to handle these kinds of tough times in btclandia?

Where the hell have you been? This thread has been packed with the crème de la crème crackpots and nutjobs for 5+ years.

How low will we go? 8k is breached, about 7870 at the moment.
I've got some cash at last. Wouldn't mind to get some moar, even without hoping to do so at the bottom - which isn't reasonable, as we all know. Rather, I could start a fresh 2J-ladder near a local low.

In the meantime, my hedge short has payed off some along the way. Play money nearly doubled. Part of the short still stands, as an insurance agains 5k. Liquidation price is over 100k.

Those bitcoin dumps turned to be very boring.

It is not a normal behavior market dumps.

Thanks.  I believe that I may have read that article previously, but I also may have forgotten about such upcoming release, because i am still using the chrome app, and it appears that the dedicated desktop release of their new app is supposed to be within a month or so, since we are getting close to the end of Q2, 2018, right? 

Hopefully, we will see some improvements when the dedicated app comes out.

For some strange reason, I get the sense that you are just guessing.  

Perhaps if you were to post some of your factual insights and analysis a bit more frequently in this thread, then I might start to become more convinced that you are "on to something?"

I prefer the ease of use of the Trezor interface a bit better.

For some reason, the Ledger Nano S has a buggy interface... Perhaps they have fixed their issues, or perhaps they are working on making their interface less clunky?  I do like the idea of a special pizza edition... a great and respectfully marketed contribution.
