Bitcoin is antisemitic
Sounds like the Branch Davidian Waco, Texas compound right before the feds started driving over it with tanks.

Except that it's totally legit. No capital gains tax and similar b/s in Puerto Rico.
But hey, if you feel better being assraped by the IRS, just do it.

That was the first link I really looked at. I have zero desire to run "unofficial" releases like that, and would like to be 100% in control of building things from scratch via "official sources", for something critical like a bitcoind and lnd server.

I'll hack around later. My partner is fighting a wicked-awful headache today and I think I want to crawl into bed and cuddle all afternoon, and sleep. Stressful week, yo.

“He’s tuned in to a higher calling,” said Kai Nygard, scion of the Canadian clothing company Nygard and a crypto investor. “He’s beyond money.”
Mr. Pierce walked around the tree and said prayers for Puertopia, holding a rusted wrench he had picked up in the territory.

....He kissed an old man’s feet. He blessed a crystal in the water, as they all watched.

....He had also co-founded Tether, which backs cryptocurrency tied to the value of a dollar and whose outstanding tokens are worth about $2.1 billion,

“So, no. No, I don’t want to pay taxes,” Mr. Collins said. “This is the first time in human history anyone other than kings or governments or gods can create their own money.”

I hear you..doesn't sound like a bad way to go. I found that guide useful getting all the dependencies set up tho. Just getting to the point where its up and stable in the VM is a pain.

To mitigate the man in the middle attack vector reported here https://www.docdroid.net/Jug5LX3/ledger-receive-address-attack.pdf … (affecting all hardware wallet vendors), always verify your receive address on the device's screen by clicking on the "monitor button"

Some oft overlooked advice about seeds.

Never take a picture of your recovery sheet (as it would go in the cloud and could be accessible to hackers).
Never enter your 24 words on any computer or smartphone.
Keep your recovery sheet in a safe place, protected from light, humidity and fire.

Additionally, it is critical to make sure that you have generated yourself the 24 words. Never, ever, use a preconfigured device. Never, ever, use a set of 24 words which has been given to you by a third party. The basic principle is that you must be the only one in the world to have knowledge of your 24 words.

On a related note, got to bed about 4am after a late night hacking with my new bitcoind server. Got it up and running last night, and ports properly forwarded from the firewall, and sitting at about 111 connections now since the new box went online.

Had a whole mess of issues between the Lenovo Hardware RAID shit, and Linux Software RAID having issues booting off a RAID volume (hardware or mdadm created - no dice on either)

Ended up just doing 1 drive for the system, and 3 drives as an md RAID5 for the bitcoin and lnd shit.

Setting up Lightning from the official lnd github page is proving to be a disaster  (https://github.com/lightningnetwork/lnd/blob/master/docs/INSTALL.md)

Code:
bob@xserver:~/bitcoin-0.15.1/bin$ sudo apt-get install golang-1.8-go

Did you try this Bob?

I am expected a nice surge...even tho I have been saying that for a week now. This sell off caught me off guard and it was glaringly obvious in hind sight. Fundamentals are still fundamental...and a 61.8% fib retrace is not out of the ball park here.
I was only able to sell a small amount at around $8550 on the way down but was able to grab a nice pile at $8129.99.
Looking to exit at 14.75k with the coins I have in play if this rebound happens. I think this is going ping pong bullishly into next week for the New Year.

The Bitfinex spoofer (aka infinite tether printer) is either Chinese or Jewish.  Those are the only two groups that would take a financial fraud this far.  Mark Karpeles is a Jew also.

All that's going on is Bitfinex printed millions of tethers out of thin air to defend the $9k level before it crashed to $7500.  Now "the bitfinex spoofer" is trying to manipulate the price back up to his buy-in point.  This is not a position of strength.  It's a position of weakness.  Why let the Bitfinex spoofer dump on you?  He prints money out of thin air then uses that money to try to dump on you at a higher price.  It's fraud.

I also support blocking people from buying crypto on credit cards.  By definition borrowed money is not what you can afford to lose.

Letting them get in debt 100K for a degree in gender studies is totally sound investment instead.

Gender studies is the phrenology of our time.

Understandable move and might turn out to be good in the mid-term (in a non-speculative way)

Not very hard to get around. Withdraw the money from your credit card and deposit to your bank account, then use your debit card to buy crypto.
