It's terrifying holding a ton in an alt that *seems* to be holding in the sea of red.

$-wise, it is currently the same as it was 24 hours ago, and in fact pumped up before coming back down.

Yeah don’t do it.  It won’t last. No one is safe.

They saw that some alts, especially the ones brought on pure hype, will disappear in major crashes.

Are there any alts in like 2013-2014 that were big, but vanished into obscurity?

The funny thing is that 1000+ coins on CMC are probably completely abandoned, but still get pumped and stuff from time to time.

That flat line at 8750 looks like something out of mtgox

Just curious - what is your prediction? I remembered you were very bearish a few weeks ago, but now you're not calling "big crash" like some are.
There could be a big crash, but it's not going to happen all at once as were already in slow grind mode. It would be a slow slide with lots of bounces like 2014. I think from here it could go to 7-8K then have a bounce back up to 13K  before proceeding with the next wave down to 5.5K then a much longer bounce to 10K and then a final wave to above 3K. This would mimic 2014.

The internet > you
as soon as a transaction rate exceeds that of a regular bank, why using bitcoin?
Because you can send them to any address you like. Try doing that with banks, Visa etc.

I can do a cash transfer up to a certain amount here around the corner, and another one street further than that, etc. And that cash transfer can even be delivered at a home address (for additional fee of course), even an address that doesn't have a computer, internet connection or whatever. There are certainly major advantages to digital currency, but why take the first one ever accepted and never explore better options?

Both still have advantages. Banks for example also allow a 1ct transfer against no fee at a few seconds transaction speed. And I can send money to all of my friends and back again all day, just for fun, without the bank network stressing. Plus the bank guarantees savings up to 20-100k, depending on the people in government :') Anyone got a guarantee from Satoshi already?

if you look at bitfinex you saw (massive) walls of 500-600 BTC at 9000$ and 8750$. When the walls start to get eaten they magically disappear  Cheesy

Hopefully 8400 is bottom. Probably just wishful thinking but it would be nice. This dip is getting painful!
