I have been on a vacation at the adriatic coast. Knowing about clear nights and a deep horizon with medicre light pollution, i decided to take my old equipment with me, an astro-modded DSLR with a fast, manual wide angle lens. While fighting off moscitos as good as i could, wrapped in jeans and hoodie, stressed by the soon awaited rise of the moon, i managed to get 12 x 15 seconds of the saggitarian arm of the milky way banned on memory card. My place was a little over the sea level, so i had to sacrifice a lot of detail and sharpness to humidity. However, the final result, with some Photoshop tricks, was good enough to get saved to the archive.

EDIT: And yes, the beautiful beast was pretty visible for the human eye, too.
That's beautiful!
Don't fret over the mosquitoes; get some DEET or better yet if you can find it, picaridin - it works great, wont dissolve (melt) your nylon Adidas shell onto your forearm (true story), it's odourless and non-greasy unlike DEET.
