Good morning Bitcoinland.

The price keeps creeping upward... currently $2870USD (Bitcoinaverage). There's no sign of it losing any value from the hard fork.

Let's see what happens when segwit clears out the mempool. Moon launch?

Let's also see what happens when the AltCash difficulty drops enough for transactions to move at a practical pace. Dump to oblivion?
______

Speaking of AltCash, isn't it time to come to an agreement regarding its ticker designation?

BTC is already well established for Bitcoin. I always thought BCC referred to Bitcoin Core, as compared to BCU for Bitcoin Unlimited.

BCH seems the obvious choice for the altcoin "Bitcoin" Cash. Can't we all just go with that?

Coinmarketcap says BCH so to me it's BCH

Segwit clears out the mempool? Trust me, most people don't even know what mempool is. Anyway, we'll hit the new ATH soon, but then BTC will crash hard, because of Bitcoin Cash, you'll see, everything's getting ready for a takeover.

In this moment, I am serene.

Me too, especially when BITCOIN's price and hash rate are still increasing.  Cool

lose: unfind ... loose: untight
Ever since [Bitcoin Cash -ed] launched, I see more and more trolls and shills for that shitcoin on this thread. And they all seem to be really irritated. Likely because their precious coin keeps falling in price.

In this moment, I am serene.

He was right, though.  The fact that BCH has fast difficulty adjustment and bitcoin doesn't while the Chinese control most of the hash power is gonna be mega-problems for BTC.

A fast difficulty adjustment works both ways. Say a lot of SHA256 power goes into bch...it rapes mining for a few tens of blocks with low diff and then miners switch back to Bitcoin, while bch hangs there, waiting for miners, but nobody is mining it due to high difficulty. It'll take hours to get it unstuck.

The effect on bitcoin is a few delayed blocks, while the fast-adjusting bch will have created an anomaly similar to how multi-pools rape altcoins - while getting raped itself and then left for hours to come down. The altcoin market has shown that the fast-adjusting coin is more exploitable and disrupted from multi-pools.

The problem cannot be easily solved for bch because if you try a detection mechanism that checks whether the blocks aren't arriving to do a massive diff cut, then you are going into an uneven mining pattern, accelerating inflation.

BCH is only fast adjusting for difficulty drops when blocks are taking too long.  Miners who want to raise difficulty have the same 2016 block period to deal with.

Correct.

And this asymmetry makes the effect more destabilizing.

Plant 1xTree for each Satoshi earned!
Yea well, I consider bitcoin a useless shitcoin compared to physical silver coins, but holding bitcoin has been more profitable recently.

Recently? LMAO

So we were advised to remove our coins from exchange during the bcc shit show.
Now it turns out had you not followed that advice and done opposite you'd have
made out like a bandit.
People in the know did just that. ie., loaded up their exchange accounts
with BTC prior to HF and now laughing all the way to the bank....

They made a factor of two. Meh.

I can't tell if that's sour grapes or sarcasm...

I think its sour grapes, but he doesn't seem to care much. Smiley

bitcoin exchanges (where people store their bitcoin)

Theres always proof of stake where wallet use is encouraged and rewarded.   In FIAT or the general population, its well known that at best most peoples wealth equates to zero so it kind of rings true that even in crypto for a large majority if they arent actively using or trading the coin in some way they dont view any worth in something as placid as storing it in a plain wallet.
The Cash chain is illiquid and Iam amazed to hear it actually deliberately changes difficulty slower, is it just a troll coin made in protest or will they update the protocol regularly with improvements now they have their own kingdom to rule over.
I mean doge coin is a bit of a troll and thats still going so I guess it'll be around, the most damaging thing is they use a similar name which confuses and deters new users I think.   I know copyright is not a thing here but protect your brand is a basic kind of backbone to marketing, like the intel campaign with its emphasis on that chip you cant see being so important.

Come on, "rOach" can´t be real, he´s just teasing us. On the other hand, what would we do without him. Or her. Even that´s not clear yet.
One thing is for certain: a girl never calls herself "roach" Smiley   I´m sure.

No need to try and be gender neutral about R0ach. He is definitely a he. You are now probably going to get whacked as a liberal falling for some jewish lie. Yada Yada Yada Cheesy

You´re right, there´s probably a reason why the majority in prisons is males !

........meanwhile back at the plantation..

https://news.bitcoin.com/indian-government-take-immediate-steps-to-stop-bitcoin-use/

"[The panel] has recommended the government to take immediate steps to stop use of VCs [virtual currencies] such as bitcoins to protect people from potential frauds and curb money laundering. "

Lol- stop corruption and money laundering in India.... surely they realise that one the most corrupt people in India are the politicans (and their friends)

Yeah well, their gov just starting looking into bitcoin after rolling out a new sales tax and receiving hella backlash from the people.
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-08-03/india-s-pmi-plunges-most-since-2009-as-new-tax-roils-economy

Now do you see why? Let's see the steps...

1. Ban physical cash
2. Force everyone into a bank account (to track their transactions)
3. Income tax them
4. Sales tax them
5. Use bank account info to hunt down and convict tax evaders
6. Profit!

Of course... there is no doubt that India is currently haivng a war on cash (not just India) and it is of course to do with maximising their tax profits.
