Fork Watch: First Bitcoin Cash Block Mined
The first Bitcoin ABC/Bitcoin Cash fork took place at block height 478558 according to BTC Fork Monitor.

Over the past week, the central theme of discussion has been the August 1 hard fork and the possible birth of a new token called ‘Bitcoin Cash’ (BCC). The fork has come about after months of long debates, scaling proposals, and community infighting and many bitcoin proponents from both sides are showing a sense of relief although some are still uncertain of the events that will take place, and how the bifurcation of the Bitcoin blockchain will play out.

Today a whole lot of people have been patiently waiting for the user-activated hard fork (UAHF) to commence and the coming of the new digital currency Bitcoin Cash.  August 1 has arrived and the 12:20 UTC time period has officially passed. The first BCC block 478558 has been mined, but at the time of writing a split has not yet occurred.

Site is back up, they are 18 blocks behind now! If this does not show the poor acceptance, i don't know what else would! Tongue

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Slept in a little later than I'd planned today but I see I didn't miss much.

No big blocks mined yet, minimal price movement... currently $2732USD (Bitcoinaverage).

The day is still young but this could be a big non-event. Then again, let's wait and see what happens when the first >1MB block is mined.
Already wasred 3+ hours for that >1 mb block. Any ETA based on current statistics.

You're never too old to think young.

So:
Nobody wants BCH

Everybody wants to dump it

Everybody wants to sell at $400. -Nobody wants to buy it at $400.

There's no miner wanting to mine a worthless coin. - Everybody is waiting for miners to mine BCH so they have free coins to dump.

CONCLUSION: Mr. Jihan Wu, remember this coin. Because this is the ONLY thing you can do if you fight against the btc community. If noone buys your coin, it is worthless.

I was just about to post this. Hopefully I can get in early enough to dump for some sweet rates. I'm guessing the exchanges are waiting for the first actual block to be mined on BCH and for the fork to begin to actually distribute BCH.

BCH/EUR, BCH/USD and BCH/XBT just added in kraken. No order yet.

I was planning on doing a 51% attack to implement segwit on BitcoinABC, but then I felt more like playing a game on my desktop instead.

Have anyone already used the split feature of ledger nano s?

The bch balance only shows in the (main). When I choose the (split) version the balance is 0.
