Quite the scary correction so far. Literally every single coin is dumping. I was worried about the altcoin bubble popping and bringing BTC down with it. We need some positive SegWit news this weekend!
We need some bigger blocks is what we need. I hear segwit will take at least a year for the effectively 70% bigger blocks to come into effect. And either way, it's not nearly enough. We need 8mb blocks NOW, and more in a few years.

Every dip is likely early adopters cashing out their huge stash. The more that happens the less big holders to dip the price in the future. The closer we get to most people only having around 1 bitcoin instead of a few people having thousands.

And here we go to another dive!

Three days ago we were at $2001, three days later we corrected back down to $2300 from a high of $2760. We needed a healthy correction, the price was rising too fast.

That's because I bought the top. This rollercoaster just let me a little sick.

The price holding here for a while with no big impending crash would be quite lovely.

Yup, if the price now sustains for a little more longer, without any big crash, then it'll be for sure, we are NOT in a bubble.

I even met an operator who offered to deal directly with me on amounts over $1000, bypassing the ATM and effectively cutting out the merchant where the ATM was placed.

normal goal with regulary visitor on ATM ... somes dealers look and note.  Grin After all, Bitcoin is like that = no middle man.

Well, if there was ever a flashing red warning sign that the top is in, this is probably it:

Sooner or later there will be a healthy Fibonacci 23.6% correction. At current ATH of 2760 that would be 2145.

Seems about right. People forget we had some significant drops before the 2013 bubbles burst.

You're never too old to think young.
Just got home. I found myself near a BTC ATM while I was out and the daily candle had dipped into the red again so I broke down and bought a tiny bit of coin... only $500 but it's better than nothing.

I thought there was a Bitcoin ATM just around the corner from you. You shouldn't have any travel expenses. Is it broken or something?

*snip*
The place I've used most recently ran out of coins a couple of days ago.
*snip*

Does it tell you its run out of coins before you put the money in, or does it happily accept the money, then refuse to give it back when it finally tells you its got no Bitcoins?

Actually, their ATM has been down since last year.

Since then, I just phone ahead to make sure they have enough coins, then head over and pay them cash anonymously for coins directly from their laptop into a paper wallet I supply.. They honor the price listed on their website.

I'm pretty sure they own and operate their own ATM. They're a small family business.

The last couple of days they've displayed this:

Whenever I've had a problem with any other ATM, a phone call to the machine's operator has cleared it up. I even met an operator who offered to deal directly with me on amounts over $1000, bypassing the ATM and effectively cutting out the merchant where the ATM was placed.
