Price is waiting the new ETF SEC be decided so it can continue it normal trajectory, hopefully towards the moon.
There's zero chance of that.  The SEC has made their choice and outlined their reasons for it (fraud protection, "penny stock", etc).

I hope no one else has got their hopes up about that, because if they did it would cause at least a slight dip when it's rejected again.

when will it be announced?

Central banker Vitalik has made 1 huge mistake; he didn't used Bitcoins security for his Smart Contracts.

RSK will do a much btter job  Kiss

True, but the particular way that it's volatile may scare a lot of weak hands and institutional investors who are used to more stable growth.
You are telling me things that I have known for years. I don't really care about people led by emotions such as the two types listed by you.

Bitcoin volatility is kind of a self-fulfilling prophecy - people get scared of the volatility which makes them panic sell/buy, making it more volatile.
I can agree with this.

Low?  It's only low compared to alts - compared to stocks, currencies, PMs, commodities.... it doesn't look it!
You do realize that it recently, albeit briefly, had a lower volatility than the Euro? Anything sub 5% in the historic volatility (as per that website) is great. Furthermore, Bitcoin seems to be on the track to reach standard currency volatility.

So BTC doubling in months is less volatility than the Euro?  The metrics you are using for however you calculate this are risible, sorry but this makes no sense to me, does that make me stupid?

Pull the other one Wink

Also no need to tell what the result in price will be if, against all odds, the SEC gets approved.

It is time to hodl, because we are between the return of a bull market and the space ride outside the solar system

far better to keep it to yourself. people get very very weird about money. better not infect those closest to you with more of it.

Also, if they buy and they lose money they will always have some internal resentment about you, while if they profit... maybe they will have some resentment for not telling them sooner. It's an always losing game.

On other note, I like this sideways action before the $2000 attempt (which should be done in weekdays).

I see the point and it does have some merit, but I'm gonna have to disagree.

Tell everyone. People who are worth a damn won't be mad at you for telling them about something they didn't know before, regardless of personal outcome. And everyone else can go eat a dick.

I tell them about the technology behind. I don't encourage or discourage them to buy in significative quantities ("invest").... And I explicitly discourage them to "trade", even if I do.

People that are not highly into "tech", I don't say anything... unless someone, for some reason, asks me about it. But again, I never tell them to buy or not to buy even if they ask for advice on what to do.

I've starting telling those who ask for advice that they should not invest unless they are prepared to hodl all the way to zero and lose it all if necessary, otherwise they'll panic sell when the inevitable crash occurs.

I have only told friends and family twice that they should buy. Once in 2010 when the price was $17 and in 2015 when the price dropped to $220.

They ignored me in 2010. One sister bought 1 bitcoin at 220.

She kept spending half of it on trips every time it doubled. She liked how she could spend half and still keep her original investment.

I don't recommend buying bitcoin to anyone but those I care about. For everyone else, if they don't get it they can die off with the rest of the sheep.

Been off the 'net a few days. Pulled up bitcoinity thinking $1600? $1400? Then I see $1788 and think all is right with the world.

I also found out that in Tahiti, today is yesterday. Had to book a room in a hostel for a night. No Internet. No A/C. Extra day though 😃

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"

A year ago, Bitcoin's M1 ranking was close to 100, and recently, in the $1800 price territory, Bitcoin's M1 ranking is around 59.  Maybe going to be in the top 50 M1 rankings, soon.

where you take the rank ?

I know about coinometrics but it is broken now....

I was using the zero block app on the Iphone.  It lists the M1 rank, but probably the information provided by Meur6879  is a bit more accurate.  - https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.19017005

First post here, been lurking around bitcoins for the past few years and never did anything with it sadly. Did a SEPA transfer this Friday but a tad to late (so it won't come into my account till tomorrow, stupid banks) and missed the dip Sad

I just found out I could instantly buy at GDAX with a credit card, noticed a small 20-30 euro dip and now it is wobling a bit. Should I buy some "playing" BTC right now or do you guys think it will drop a bit more in the upcoming hours? I will use the money that is coming in tomorrow for a longer investment.
The question you should be asking is "Where can I read about how this technology works so that I can form my own informed opinion?".

What I hear in conversation when Bitcoin price is low: "You're still doing Bitcoin stuff? Didn't Bitcoin die last year?"

Text messages I get when Bitcoin is at an ATH: "Hey do you think now is a good time to buy Bitcoin? How much should I buy?"
People are so dumb.  Everyone espouses the oversimplified "buy low, sell high", but whenever people are actually trying to put it into practice they just ignore the prospect.  The option for them to buy Bitcoin is always right there in front of their face if they just researched the technology instead of looking at the short term price.
