Hey everyone. Well the good news is my wife is very happy! She is back from her mothers and believes I am not a complete fool once more. Sold at $1196 on stamp so everyone is happy.
I didnt lose anything. In face made a tiny bit. She isn't leaving me anymore.

Now all that is left to do is cry into a pillow because I have no position.

She says if I do this again she will kill me, but on the crash we must have this weekend as we shake out weak hands Ill be back  Cool
No one tell me wife
Good your marriage is back on track.

I'm glad that my wife is now cool with me risking a lot of money on bitcoin - I had to prepare her psychologically first as she is not a risk taker - but happy to see the rewards coming in and understanding that the pot I have built could collapse.
I think my best move is to sit down with her and decide as someone else suggested what we want to have no matter what saved. Then the rest can be invested in bitcoin so even at the worst we don't go straight to the poor house. This was a long time coming I suppose.

Thank Satoshi this situation was salvaged
I push my savings into different 'buckets', real estate, stocks, mutual finds, bitcoin and spread the risk a little - I actually invest least into BTC but make more profit there (and spend the most time on BTC) - the shares and mutual funds take care of themselves, and never invest what I can't afford to lose.

I find it strange that they did not accept the ETF because they could not regulate every bit of it.

How do they regulate all of the gold in the world for the GLD ETF?
Oops, I missed the news must have been whilst I was sleeping - strangely I noticed no difference in my crypto value - the loss in BTC must have been pushed into alts as I gained 2% overnight - should be watching the charts LOL

I saw a "nightmare" that bitcoin will end up to 575 usd but instead of that it was 1175 when I woke up.
Definetely I would go and liquadate some gold coins and bars to buy bitcoins if the weak hands were able to dump the beast that low.

If it goes to USD 575, I will think of selling my house.  Grin
There was a lot of talk about the SEC announcing the decision on Monday and so I totally missed the news. By the time I found out, the price had crashed and rebounded as well.  Smiley

Actually I agree with this.
That's basically the point to get all in. Take all the possible consumer loans, withdraw money from Credit Cards and buy tons of bitcoins.
Sure at that point it can go deeper but then just the solution is to hold and pay little by little everything and if it tanks even further, make another "crazy" move. The worst thing that happen is that you need to work a little bit over time for some time.
In the long run it is going up any way and the sharper the drops the more likely it is that you can sell at profit even a few minutes later.

My 2c:

Maybe think twice about putting the lot in next time?  Especially if it's a shared pot.  She would have a point if you'd wiped out a chunk of it.

Get her to agree an amount of BTC you can buy (and trade some of) trade and stick to it.

Too early to say, perhaps - but When Silk Road happened in 2013 there was a fairly big crash.

However, the totally unexpected recovery was damn quick and took everyone by surprise.

Terminated.
So basically almost everyone sold at the bottom? LOL
I know a lot of people who sold between $1100 and $1000. Cheesy

Lessons learned I hope. When in doubt: hold.

I suppose it could slip again ...if not I'm a holding so it is all good 'ego wise' either camp Smiley

this is way overbought dont you think.
i mean wtf, tomorrow 1200 as if nothing happened?
really?

The 'ways of bitcoin' are mysterious to me..yea...verily....(mantra) Smiley

IT may dump to a floor of as low as 1000 now...no where near what I guessed if the ETF went down (800-900)

thou the asses played it till the end just like I thought to make an example and try to 'slap' the upstart btc down by stringing the ETF process along for 3 years...
the statement from the powers that be...drag it out slap you down at the last day..pretty much what the IRS did in 2013 on IRS guidelines 10 days before the
filing deadline...lots of old bankers and such in the SEC....

I particularly like the ' we can't regulate bitcoin because it is currently unregulated' viewpoint Smiley

But back to price

I think BTC will maybe hang around 1100 usd when it all settles and do its usual sideways shuffle for a couple months...unless of course people plan to
push the FORK because of BU fud or other stuff to rock the boat...but imho price would not be at all un-sensible to just chug along sideways in that time line

we need periods of price stability and 'boredom' with pumps on actual progress imho...FUD disregarded and just real progress rewarded would be nice for a change in drama

Winklevoss twins need to dump a "few" of their extra BTC all the way down to my bid, on GDAX. They might as well start dumping a little since they can't liquidate them through their EFT scheme.

This train can't be stopped!
Who sold at the bottom?

I though my sell at 1165 was near the top. WRONG!
