Bitcoin will, of course, chug on regardless of SEC decision or ETF.

What matters most is that we can overcome the scaling debate and solve the basic issues we now have.

That would be the best.

Increase the userbase and continue with organic growth and more businesses accepting bitcoin and more people using bitcoin for day to day activity.

This will cement it's value in the long run, SEC be damned.

They actually quoted somewhat professor bitkorn's comment he sent in about a small group hoarding most bitcoins.  They really focused on the manipulation of exchanges, primarily in China and non-USA locations.  Stated Bitcoin is still in its very early stages of development (really).

Doing all of this to protect us.

Grrrr....

I think that's a pretty sensible position for them to take at this stage. Unsexy, but true. I wonder how much all this has cost the Winklevii.

In the long run, who cares.
I kind of agree that ETF was premature, maybe.
All accompanying verbiage is rubbish, of course.
Points out the SEC will only list things they can control. They can't control bitcoin. That's the whole fucking point. :-)

...and we shouldn't care much about ETFs from now on, just develop this into it's potential, slowly, but surely.

Bitcoin FTW!
If the price battle bounces around 1100 and finishes the day anywhere near that I think that is a massive positive
Price was being massively inflated anyways, that was bound to end soon. People forecasting 700-800 are being overly dramatic, it isn't the end of the world and we've had worse price crashes before. At the end of the day a HODLer like me isn't too worried about this, the fact that we even hit an ATH is nice.

Deep state decided they can't manipulate bitcoin price through ETFs. Bitcoin can't be rehypothecated in contrast to gold. That's it. They have no leverage on bitcoin anymore. That is GOOD!

they could have controlled its price....if they allowed the ETF.

Interesting read of the disapproval reasons.

A little after 4.00pm US EST time.

My bet, no info to support it whatsoever - apart from I used to live in Manhattan. I just think they will want to release it after trading hours at NYSE / NASDAQ.

35 minutes... ish.

Battle positions, Gentlemen.

Fine wine at the ready or a nice cup of horlicks and a box of tissue to mop up the tears?

I am cheating with a Crozes Hermitage, but THEN it's a Chateau Lafite or the bloody cooking wine Wink

EDIT: The Lafite will have to wait.....
