My good friend is Pete McMillan and he works as a clerk for the SEC. He sent me a screenshot yesterday of his laptop. On it was the press release for next Wednesday on the Bitcoin Winklevii ETF... So the decision has already been made folks.

Is it wise to have named this fella in public? He might end up in a shipping container in Poland somewhere listening to the Barney song.

As for the revelation that there is a WOMAN amongst us, I can't quite believe what I'm reading.

Is everyone on this thread living on Mount Athos? You realise they're half the global population, right? There might be one within 5-6 metres of you RIGHT NOW.

a woman posted in the r/bitcoinmarkets slack, one guy thought she was a he using a 'hot chick' avatar photo and girl's name to garner more replies.
she got all the help/answers/advice/replies she wanted.

hilarious.

I thought this bit of information would silence the debate that has been raging the past few hours. Remember to only invest more than you can afford and never take the advice of anyone that is prepared to give it. Also, remember that no shoes were made for a cobbler's feet before they are first made for his children.

sooooo it's a yes?

Haha @K~Ehleyr, I'm glad that you laughed at that.  You're my kind of woman then, should fit right in with these guys.  Grin

I like you @Torque  Grin

I guess the others are just getting bored because the price hasn't moved in a while.  When we either break $1300 or crash below $1100, they'll forget I'm here Cheesy

Nostalgia.

This thread started April 13th, 2013. The same week I discovered BTC. also same week I ordered
BFL equip to arrive in May 2013. (Phone voice verified) (Jally 5 gh arrived 🎃 Oct 31st 2017)
Such a clueless Newbie I was. 🤔

Anyway back to this thread start on April 13th, 2013. BTC was $67.43 bucks

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.1858442

Wow!

😳

Same story as me, almost exactly. Only I ordered 35gh/s worth of bfl gear, and didn't get it all until late Sept/Oct 😆

I was newbie stupid but got lucky..i upgraded the 65mm stuff and paid a fee too boot to upgrade to a monarch card....(8.5k in) thought it was lost
but a year later was refunded (one of the few) by BFL due to the SEC snooping around. They only paid 35k penalty the BFL corp took the losses
they would have been better off paying back no one ..even if it was just a few of us..dumb luck

So hey...rest assured the BFL crew...are all whales now due to us..and enjoying this price pump immensely like the rest of us minions Sad

I can't even contemplate the number (feel free to do the math) of the diff between the april 13th 2013 post of $67.43 BTC raise till the now price of $1293 per BTC now

damn...that would be a lot of moo la...at 100 btc....can't go that high..the shock of such  rise in a 3 year period would make me a nervous wreck!

ack! (the old can't live with the BTC the price is too high....can't live without the BTC and sell it may pump....argh........the angst.....)

hopefully we will all be whining about that in 3 years as our worse problem

Yea I don't think I'm going to go calculate all that. I just know they owe me something between 15-100 bitcoins. I was told (on the phone by Josh if I'm not mistaken) I could get a refund as long as I requested one before my order went into production. Later, when I did decide a refund was best, I was told the policy is no refunds. You can maybe imagine how pissed I was/am.

I kinda screwed up trying to trade again earlier today because of those mixed emotions, lost .012 btc. Also, I was being impatient. This is why I prefer to just buy and hold lol 😆

I confirm yonton is an insider. He's the guy who's gonna stamp "approved" right on the Winkeltwin's foreheads.

Make sure your boosters are warmed, and your helmet is sealed to your space suit

Fact:
Insiders (and therefore the media) *always* know the outcome of something ahead of the Average Joe public. This is how they cheat the system. So they would already know if the COIN ETF was disapproved.

Hypothesis:
So if they already know it is disapproved, why in the last 2 weeks have the media gone into overdrive with the "it's unlikely to get approved" and "low chance of approval" and all the "warnings" and "risks" articles? Wouldn't their behavior be quite the opposite? (meaning no effort need to be expended)

I.E., they wouldn't need to expend so much effort to dissuade the public away from Bitcoin, if the disapproval was already known to them. Correct??  Wink

Paranoid and off your medication? No order, just chaos and coincidences. Read a bit about neuropsychology and stop with the conspiratory nonsense..

Your response to him makes 0 sense because it's a fact just about everything is insider traded.  The media, especially CNBC, ALWAYS tells you to dump at the floor and buy at the top, like when they were spamming gold was a "barbarous relic" and then it skyrockets right after.  Whether his analysis is true or not is another thing entirely.  The banker shills floating around seem to actually want people to use bitcoin nowadays (because they know how easy it is to co-opt), with people like Ben Bernanke and David Cameron endorsing it, so there's no telling what effect things like that will have on ETF approval.

No, the media is almost everytime negative about bitcoin. The only 'insiders' you are talking about just cashed out. Some big fishes dumped their coins for fiat money. Thats my indicator for what the outcome of the COIN ETF will be.

If you think those sells a couple of hours ago were 'dumps' by 'big fishes' then you're clearly new around here.

+1 one that ..

Not only new here but in general also...
If you ask someone that is part of this story you will have the answer that is simply nothing...and bounce back is already happening inside the weekend... this is the most important to understand

Truer words were never spoken. That 'dump' wouldn't even qualify as a big fish farting.

People running the Bitfinex bucketshop trading on their own exchange have no inside knowledge of ETF approval, so those people buying or dumping doesn't really tell you anything.  People who are leveraged also cut and run with the profits they already accumulated even in a 50/50 approval/rejection scenario.
