the truth is you can spend coins on Amazon with no problems! Anything shipped right to your door!~ i think people who sensationalize a scalabilty problem should reevaluate the facts !  Cool

No argument from me on that one.

Being a long-term hoarder/saver, I try not to ever spend/sell any coins unless absolutely necessary or considerably more convenient than fiat currency.

An example of the latter would be for travel. If you don't use credit cards, booking hotels can be a little tricky. Expedia accepts Bitcoin.

Now if only Paypal would smarten up and do the same, I wouldn't miss out on eBay bargains due to the high cost and slow process of making deposits. My principal means of adding money to my Paypal account is through Stubhub sales of excess baseball tickets. Even that is a slow process.

Compared to cash and Bitcoin, anything that involves banks or other financial service companies is excruciatingly slow.

chinese new year is in six days, seems to be such a certainty the price drops every year that day, but there's nothing certain with bitcoin, is it?

In a day or two I'm thinking that 860-870 will be retested, then hopefully bounce from there into the 900s.

Well, didn't quite happen the way I expected (e.g., didn't expect the rise to 937 first before the dump), but I believe the retest just happened.  Sideways in the low 900s for a while, then onward and upward from here.

Bored. So bored. Not buying until around $800, and nothing below 1k excites me.

Finally a buying opportunity, and string support at the bottom end of 900.

Also If you look at the Fibonacci retracement line, the price falls right into those support levels.

Huobi itself shows trades a few seconds ago.

https://www.huobi.com/market/cny_btc

Bitcoinity says the last trade was 9 hours ago.

https://bitcoinity.org/markets/huobi/CNY

There might be a glitch in the API that bitcoinwisdom and bitcoinity use to get the latest trading data from huobi.

Any reason for this $20 instant dip or is this just normal correction?

One theory:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.17475939

And:

...a sharp retrace back up to the propellor "nose" which would be around 6700 CNY (~$900-$950 dollars), followed by a slow retrace back down to half the lower propellor blade (5900 CNY = $750) and then starting the next bubble from there which may go to $2000 by July.

Ooh, shiny things!!
I have just had my first practice at drawing lines on a Bitstamp chart and I hereby predict that around midnight on 22nd January UTC (that's the midnight after 21st January), the trend will decide whether it's going to go up or down  Tongue

If it decides it's going down, we'll see €760 ($813 USD?) by the early hours of 27th January.

I could show you my pic but I'm not subscribed to any of those image sharing sites and pastebin won't do images.  I'm curious to see how far out I am though  Grin

If  you Google for "upload image" you will get a huge list of image sharing sites, most of which are free.

This one comes top of the list. You don't have to register, just click the big button and select your image to upload it and get given its URL.

Thanks for that!!  That's useful!  Ok, here goes.  I'm sure it's a load of crappydoodle but please be gentle and constructive  Tongue

Zoomed-out, I tried to identify the long-term support line:

Then I zoomed in and marked the trend top and bottom and the short-term support line:

The times I've referred to are the two criss-crossy bits furthest right.  I hope I haven't confused anybody with my highly technical language  Cheesy Cheesy

Hey, the first bit of my prediction was damn near spot-on!!  If the second bit turns out correct(ish) also for deep downward over the next week, then this could be a pretty awesome b-to-c part of the handle formation!!

The last "crash" caused by a PBOC related issue lasted less than 12hours and caused a $40 drop in the price.

This time won't be different, by Monday the price will be back to $920+

You were kidding yourself with that bogus line, that you drew towards the current downtick instead of the previous low in the uptrend like you should've, and you knew it. And the price now shows it too Smiley

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"
I think I missed another easy profit. These crashes happen so freaking fast...

Less than 5% could not be a crash - maybe a minor dip (correction)

5% to 10% is maybe a medium dip (correction)

10% to 15% is maybe a large dip (correction)

15% to 25% is maybe a major dip (correction)

greater than 25% is maybe a "crash".. ....   hahahahaha

So far we are less than 5%, but maybe also depends on whether we are measuring the dip from $937 to $900 or if we need to start from $1,139  to figure out how far we are down from that recent top and the extent to which we may be recovering?  because if we go back below $800, maybe somewhere in that territory, we may be in "crash" territory, no?

The 920 floor is not a reality, but 900 is holding... for now.

I guess we can only wait and watch.
