The psychology is remarkable. So many willing buyers at 1100, but at 35% discount the same folks flip out. This is why 80%+ traders are losers. RSI is way oversold, could drop a little more but not much before a significant bounce.

No we should thank them. They are cleaning up their exchanges and at the same time the risk of China baning bitcoin is highly reduced. If you wanted bitcoin to ever succeed this was the best that could happen imo

Was bitfinex included in the raids? Dd it get off the hook because it's in Hong Kong?
Bitfinex NOT included in the raids.  The CSO Phil aka PGP was on Whalepool live chat this morning stating that they have no interests on mainland China.  HK is where the founder lives but the operations are unaffected.

STOP FUDING, IT'S NOT RAIDS, JUST NORMAL MEETINGS !!!!!!

Sorry, I misinterpreted what reuters said the PBOC said. It called them spot checks in the case of OKCoin and Huobi, but a visit in the case of BTCC.

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-china-bitcoin-idUSKBN14V15Q

Quote
The PBOC in Beijing, where officers visited the offices of OKCoin and Huobi on Wednesday, said in a statement that "spot checks were focused on how the exchanges implement policies including forex management and anti-money laundering".

Separately in Shanghai, the PBOC said it visited BTCC, noting its checks "focused on whether the firm was operating out of its business scope, whether it was launching unauthorized financing, payment, forex business or other related businesses, whether it was involved in market manipulation, anti-money laundering or (carried) fund security risks."

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"
God knows how someone who hodls a huge amount is feeling. I have a reasonable amount and it hurts even though I don't trade or plan to sell anytime soon.

It always feels bad when the price drops exorbitantly, and if you are prudent, in any kind of way, you are not investing more than you can afford to lose... right?

On the other hand, if you are gambling, and investing more than you can afford to lose, then you are going to feel a lot more stress about these kinds of situations that are actually within the realm of expectations.

All the sell orders on stamp dried up. It's fluctuating between 371 and 529 bitcoins for sale up to $585.
It's not so much fun on cex.io, trading on there is not as volatile. I think I need to start trading BTC/USD on a few more exchanges.

There is one silver lining to this flash crash.  It didn't happen with an exchange hack or insolvency.  I don't think they could find an exchange to do it. The FUD'sters are running out of valid "reasons" for crashing the market after a sharp run up (the crash reason which they have planned all along, and wouldn't run up the market without it).

In the past, their easy targets were Mt. Gox DoS, Mt. Gox insolvency, Bitfinex hacking, other exchange hacking, etc.  But that is quickly becoming a thing of the past.

If every exchange eventually complies with all security protocols and financial regs, and things like formal ETFs happen, then what will the whale traders have left to crash with?  Nothing. They'll have to just completely make bullshit up, which can be easily refuted with knowledge.  At some point, silly rumors and gossip just won't work anymore.

This is why I'm not too worried about the crash.

It isn't 2013 anymore. The challenges we are seeing from PBOC / manipulation / whatever are just part of growing up. Expect more. Like I said - the more knocks it takes the less harm they do.
