Now it would be nice for the media to demystify bitcoin. Explain it is a combination of technologies that have been around for years. Baby steps!

You're never too old to think young.
Here we go again... $1050USD at Bitcoinaverage. That's $1410CAD. another new ATH.

Yahoo.

Do you really feel it brother ?

I don't know why we don't feel it amazing anymore :S !!

Oh yes, I feel it.

I don't find it amazing though because I expected this.

I find it satisfying to finally get some concrete returns on my unfaltering belief in the future of Bitcoin.

We bulls took a fair bit of flak back in 2014-5 while the bears had their little picnic, but some of us knew what was coming, held steadfastly during the down times, bought more coins as the prices fell, and even laughed at the cock-sureness of the bears (remember Karhu?) as we accumulated.

The teddy bears had their little picnic (see them gaily gad about) back then, but look who's partying now.

Cheers bro. You were always a fearless bull, never wimped out and became a bear. Enjoy the time.

This bbc article is the pretty small resume of much things said here and published on Coindesk. Hope with that, many old men take their fiat sh** money and put in some "haven asset" like Bitcoin. I'm a fckn broked guy and I sold almost everything I had and I work in two places ~76h a week just to make money with BTC. 2017 will be awesome... if I have to work more I will.

Terminated.
Updated chart  Cool

Thank you! I have always liked this gif, and one can now easily find it on Viber (first result if one uses "@GIPHY bitcoin price"). I've uploaded the updated version to Giphy.

Stabilization above $1000 is showing an even a bigger bullish trend? I am not selling. Anything.

I fix broken miners. And make holes in teeth :-)
Looks like the FT article is behind a paywall and they don't seem to take bitcoin.

Meanwhile, Tuesday ends (UTC) with a fine green candle.

That's 4 in a row with a start on a 5th.

Another day, another green candle, another  CAD/EUR ATH.

Did someone say that we'd crash with the new year? LOL  Grin

I think many, including myself are in a bit of disbelief or afraid to pop the cork on a Champaign bottle... or post gifs etc. lol, I'm still in a little shock and wonderment as to why the demand/price has gone up as much as it has... but hey" we'll take it!  Grin

Halving ... coins just dried up and demand stayed constant. It's baked into the algorithmic cake of bitcoin bubbliciousness. Market now needs to find a new equilibrium price point to balance new supply and demand, only thing it really knows is that equilibrium is higher than now. Then there's the other contributory effects that come into play during a rise like Veblen Good, monetary use premium, accelerated network effect, etc feeding into demand and retention of recycled supply (hoarding/saving).

LOL, the mainstream-media praises BTC now since weeks and as soon as one or two critical articles appear: "propaganda measurements".  Grin

The mass-media likes BTC (so far), deal with it.

From the Technology Review article:

Quote
The structure of Bitcoin means that if a small number of users hold the majority of the currency, as is the case with these Chinese companies, then they are able to veto changes to the underlying technology.
