First halving: block reward goes from 50 #Bitcoin to 25, but it took less than 100 days for the Fiat value of the block reward to reach what it was before the halving.

Second halving: block reward goes from 25 #Bitcoin to 12.5, but it took less than 1 year for the Fiat value of the block reward to reach what it was before the halving.

Third halving (current): block reward goes from 12.5 #Bitcoin    to 6.25, but it took less than half a year for the Fiat value of the block reward to reach what it was before the halving.

Fourth halving (upcoming): block reward goes from 6.25 #BTC to 3.125, but how long will it take for price to double?
= The 2024 halving will be interesting..! Huh

what is this "brake pedal" you speak of?
Code is determining reward per block.

Code says a block reward is 6.25 coins at this time.

Code will change a tiny bit in ten months.

It will set reward at 3.125 coins.

So technically a tiny piece of code changes .

the code doesnt change. the execution path of the code may change, or variables calculated in the code may change. but the code itself is static during the halvening.

I do agree that bloomberg’s description it pretty fucking terrible.

As the ½ ing is built in.

1. Halvings do not rewrite Bitcoin’s code, they have been in Bitcoin’s code from the beginning.

2. Mining rigs hash block headers, they don’t validate transactions.

We need more #Bitcoin education! Especially for mainstream journalists. These paragraphs are from Bloomberg

This is Dorian Nakamoto in the picture. He is alleged Satoshi!
We don't know who is REAL Satoshi!

Dorian Nakamoto is traditionally used to represent Satoshi in memes, however unfair it is to him, because its a basic human desire to put a face behind an idea. Who should they use instead, this guy?

Its the same reason why the media often uses pictures of physical coins with BTC on them when presenting a story about bitcoin, even though a physical coin isn't bitcoin.

Maybe they should use

Keep stacking, we’re still early.

Maybe nice, but does anyone around here seriously expect to be around by the last couple of halving dates?
