born once atheist
I was thinking...
Its nothing to do with ideology, but anyone that constantly firehoses political noise, Daily Rag links etc, no matter what reality bubble they live in,
but never offer their idea of a remedy to all the crap they constantly complain about, bugs the shit outta me.

Just sayin...

Hi guys, how are you all doing.
Trying to buy gadgets from the US, but its getting harder and harder, a lot of sellers wont ship to Europe, have no idea why.

Be good.

Probably because in the US it is now becoming custom to just take what you want from shops.

On a serious note (not that the above isn't serious, I think it's a disgrace), in answer to your question, this probably helps:

Regulations Hit Sellers Shipping to Europe
https://www.ecommercebytes.com/2022/06/07/regulations-hit-sellers-shipping-to-europe/

Over regulation destroys everything. It is destroying and has destroyed banks. They are no longer liable for their actions since they are always bailed out and only big banks are allowed to survive. Starting a bank is now impossible thanks to regulations.

Remember when that stupid cookie regulation came into effect and made the internet become one irritating place to browse websites?

We need less regulation and more common sense such as more physical security in shops, schools and on the streets.

Quote
“This law states that if you ship to German buyers, you’ll need to register your tax ID and information with LUCID Packaging Register, the German government database. If you don’t register you may face fines up to €200,000 and a prohibition in sales, and your goods could possibly be confiscated during delivery.”

Indeed with such regulations, why would an American company even bother selling to a poor assed European? What is the point? Why risk it?

I used to upgrade mac minis from 2005 to 2013

At times I would get really good ram stick deals and sell some extra sticks on ebay.

When I started I could send a small flat rate priority box to any country in the world for 13 usd tracking and 200 insurance.
I could fit four sticks with ease. did fifty sales a year overseas.
same deal now cost far more.
international shipping fell apart under President Bush by 2010 price was double paper work a bitch.
I stopped selling overseas for the most part.

Didn't know about these regulations, did know about the shipping costs since I have done a lot of int'l buying.

Lately I have had to ask a friend in the states to buy and send me stuff, but he passed away some months ago so now I don't really know how to buy stuff from the states if the seller won't ship overseas. Bummer..

Looking good for some continuation once $29K is taken out. My only concern is where volume? Good chance it arrives at $30k if not sooner.

Bitcoin is not a currency. It's just a highly speculative asset with a fundamental value of zero.

Wrong… I first started using Bitcoin as a currency almost 10 years ago.

Everyone on this thread already knows that noob …😂

Bitcoin is not a currency. Bitcoin is money.

Purchasing bitcoins is not investment. It is disinvestment because economic environment is too unpredictable.

one can say it has a fundamental value of zero.

but reality is it has a real utility value in managing the world wide grid.

It it a great tool when a wind farm generates 10mega watts an hour and demand is 4 megawatts the extra 6 megawatts need to be shunted somewhere.  Say a nearby btc mine.

And when demand increases to 6.5 megawatts an hour the mine can back off to 3.5 megawatts.

Miners are a really good resistive load.

Secondary purpose is hear generation in the example above quite a bit of heat will be produced by this miners and it can be fed into heating grids.
