Sometimes I think the best thing would be for Satoshi to just dump all his coins right now, take us back to double, maybe single digits and really test the limits of this market.

I hope you were just exaggerating... because if Satoshi were to fully dump his/her/its holdings, I have little hope that bitcoin would rise back up... simply because most people here are not believers, but rather, just in it for the money.

It would be quite a redistribution of coins. But I think bitcoin would rise again afterward. Probably rather quickly, too.

It's still early days. We're gonna see some awesome things in 2016. 2015 is the calm before the storm. I know that bitcoin (and maybe some altcoins, who knows?) is destined to play a big part in the future. It's too damn easy to use and convenient. Only crazy people think it's a complete failure.

The persistent problem still remains - no volume. At least in financial market terms this is just chicken feed.

And without volume obviously you have no buying to maintain any meaningful price. Will that ever change, will bitcoin ever trade on any exchanges that any real money can take seriously? Only time will tell.

Good luck, g

The worst thing that happened to bitcoin was the fast price increase.  It turned it from an experimental currency into a pyramid schema, created an absurdly overinflated and overconcentrated mining industry, got the system to depend on a steady supply of new coin buyers instead of actual users, attracted many scammers and heckers, and snake oil salesmen...

9.9.2012: I predict that single digits... <- FAIL

Even as a permabull I'm kinda doubting the Stockholm launch. I don't know why, but I am. It's great for the validity of bitcoin, and it helps move bitcoin out of the fringe anarchic nerd circle, but for some reason I'm not expecting much volume from KNCs Bitcoin Tracker.

Doesn't the whole concept of an ETN depend the issuers credit rating and credibility? If I was looking to invest I wouldn't be hugely impressed by KNCminer as a company. There's no shortage of beefs from their customers.

The notes are issued by XBT Provider AB, a new company. It shouldn't be hard to prove that they are not running with fractional reserve.

Are some of their customers taking them to court? I don't think I'd trust them.

Looks like it's in the works

Some reckon their money was used to fund KNC's private mining operation.
