Yeah it's Windows, but this will be the future of security. Biometric wallets FTW.

"Windows Hello introduces system support for biometric authentication – using your face, iris, or fingerprint to unlock your devices – with technology that is much safer than traditional passwords"

Alohar!! http://www.techtimes.com/articles/34023/20150219/alohar-mobile-security-authentication.htm

(security is going to go beyond traditional biometric profiling ^^, for instance using machine learning to learn from the data collected by our devices and using that to build far more complex identification verification models from that data... going to be listening to our heartbeats eventually no doubt too, incidentally our phones will also turn into onboard doctors, as well as onboard policemen)

Very true. I remember reading somewhere about a device that was already able to monitor an individual's ECG waves as they are even more unique than fingerprints. This stuff is being created as we type.

that would be so sweet, especially when the tech comes bundled with zero day exploits and built in backdoors that lead straight to the NSAs data collection centre Cheesy

Yup... afraid so, but then it is not exactly a case of "newsflash- shocking news just in, the NSA are watching, and apparently will continue to do so" and it is not as if Apple, inc applepay ^^ and all of the others,  are now, or will be in the future immune from this. Neither will it stop the evolution of the tech from occurring.

The tech is coming/already here, it is the way people accept it, or not, or get around it, or not,  that will determine how useful and or detrimental it will be to society. I am afraid that people will continue to sleep walk straight into it.

"to be or not to be, that is the bitcoin"
I have a hunch facepay is not going to kick off... I have this feeling that facebook and money just don't go together. It would feel weird to a user, at this time anyway. All they wanna do is look at stupid videos, pictures and comments, not deal with something serious like money. That comes on a different platform.

I wonder though what possible solutions there are to the problem of innate human laziness and inertia. I mean, bitcoin could be great an all, but do people really want to switch to some new innovative currency for transacting, when their iphone has it all laid out for them in traditional bucks format?

should I make a thread for this? has it been discussed already? (probably)

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"
I am expecting the price of Bitcoin to rise up to atleast 300 or over by monday but then again that is my speculation...what do you guys think?

I think that there is a poll specifically answering your question about what guys here think - although I cannot change my vote if I change my mind, so maybe the poll would be different if asked again?

I was personally anticipating in the $290s range on monday, but the majority of others appear to believe below $270 (although some of them may be just attempting to manipulate)... I prefer over $300, but the reality of the matter is that we may need to wait for a while for the market to truely reverse back into a clear upward trend... . several more months is possible and maybe even longer is NOT unrealistic...

Celebrating the death of bitcoin with my special bear friend.

Wait till facebook rolls out their payment system to over 1 billion people. Now, I shitted on ripple for a long time, but imagine "Facebook Pay" along with Ripple's technology. A great way to remove the transaction delay which currently requires 1-3 business days.

You would have the perfect payment solution. Bye Bye 6 year old useless beta obscure trash Bitcoin that epic failed at getting mass adoption! Thanks for the blockchain though.

hello bulls.
I see you are opening longs like mad. good, good. the more you open the harder the fall will be.

I wouldn't hold my breath for the longs getting margin called soon. I mean, I'd love this to happen, but I'm not counting on it.
If the market is in a similar position today with the 13th June 2014, then a long squeeze may only happen ~2 months from now.
Back then, longs kept rising until mid July, and were squeezed during the 11th - 18th August crash.

doesnt matter when will happen...it's fun to watch from the sidelines and as a bear.

So the big dump was caused by bull shit news, massively over estimating a number of coins scammed by an online drug site?

If that's true the BTC world should be ashamed, reacting to fake news.

Anybody got a link citing the real number of coins stolen by Evolution?

All I keep seeing is the $12mill worth posted everywhere.

Hello, ChuckBuck!
Bitcoin Dark Web Markets, perhaps due to the nature of their business, have been hesitant in releasing full, up-to-date financial data.  Because privacy.
Amateur internet sleuths and forensic accounting aficionados have arrived at BTC40,000; this number eventually upped to BTC130,000 by NSWGreat, an attention whore.
Hope this helps.

Well, I only lost 15 bitcoin today...

 Cry

Sad that not good. Did you sell to realize those losses?

I had a 5 btc long that got margin called on futures, and lost 10 from taking losses on a long I had open since 286.

Feeling sick, worst loss in my 3 years of trading bitcoin Sad
Dude, the margin call is nasty as you've seen. Stop playing that game and trading when the vipers are typically on the other end of the game. Just buy and hold with your expendables and wait til the market comes back up instead of setting yourself up to get crunched. My God... Don't be afraid to take a minimal loss but manually sell when things get too underwater for you on your own. This is the double loss playing the trading game on the long or short that all relaxed players should chill on.

Now, you're gonna see the wrath of the trolls. I've seen this play out before and never would open myself up to this unfolding on my face like that. The vast majority of traders (like 66%+) will get nailed, that's why people should just take their stance and let it ride w/ a short stop loss in a mental fashion.

Yeah you're right, I'm all out of margin now. Moving to storage and taking a break for a while, good luck and happy trading everyone

Was it 20x or 10x?  20x is scary shit which I still dabble in here and there.

It was a 20x long I tried to catch a falling knife with  Undecided
