Wow...speculators?  Nah never! In cryptocurrency,  ha.

Nxt has been pretty steady in its first year.

Now we will see how it does in its 2nd year.

That is basically all one can say.

I hope it continues to develop.

Back to btc,  this year is going to be interesting.

Oh and I have not been posting past month really (because I have a life outside of crypto thank god)
But I see that many of the trolls have been in full flow with their shit all through the holiday period (tbh how sad for them, honestly) but anyways may I ask, did I miss anything of interest, posted by normal real posters that are making genuine contributions? (To save me going back through the pages and pages and pages  of troll shit)

Hope you all had a good Christmas,  New years, and all of that.

It was steady, but I hate such troll predictions like "Bitcoin goes down, NXT will go to the moon" etc.

As you said the trolls here.

Nxt taking off. Bye bye bitcoin it's been a good ride but it's time to go now.

Serious?

That run is just a pump of speculators.. It will drop soon enormously.

A 9.10% increase is hardly a moonshot.

Nxt soon catching up to where it was 20 days ago.

Not bad for a shitcoin that's been pumped twice.

The point is that whales in the top 500 addresses are buying low.

How do you know they're buying and not just transferring coins they already had from other (presumably smaller) wallets?

Occam's razor. It is a multi year trend.

Occam's razor doesn't really apply, and okay, it's a multi-year trend is reasonable, I guess, but that doesn't necessarily mean the whales are buying, or at least not those whales in particular.

Why would whales accumulate coins if they did not expect the price to rise subsequently?

I haven't seen a decent analysis to show it's financially viable to manipulate the market by buying and selling. It seems risky at least.

So, who's to say whales' expectations are correct?

It isn't an analysis you will likely see now is it. That doesn't stop it being possible or probable.

What is  considered low $500 or $50 or .50 cents

Is there a way to tell what addresses in the top 500 belong to exchanges? I assume they must have some of the biggest wallets.

@JJG I don't think we can assume to know which is easier making these kind of assumptions is just silly. Bull whales with fiat aren't going to pump it without holding it first hand, so perhaps they're accumulating all the way through this bear trend, perhaps they're not...It's just easier to watch and see what happens...all the while paying attention to how infrastructure is growing in the bitcoin space.

I think the more pertinent question is why won't there be another pump?

We would simply be retracing our previous steps and the price could nearly quadruple from here just to reach the ATH. Top 500 addresses shows accumulation during this bear market, just as in others.

Why would whales accumulate coins if they did not expect the price to rise subsequently?

I am not saying there won't be a new pump and the same reason you think they're accumulating them for.
