Housing in the UK is the main reason as the banks have allowed prices to soar far above where they should be, and the government have intervened to keep prices sky high. My partner and I both earn easily more than twice the national median wage but buying a decent house is almost out of reach. Thirty years ago we would have been extremely well off.
