Slightly on topic. Very slightly.
I'm watching a Muse (the band) live concert on tv and during a song this banker comes on stage and throws away worthless dollar bills to the audience. Or whatever the message is.
Anyway, this specific clip is in b/w but the notes he throws away are brightly coloured.
I realize this is probably the most simple effect nowadays but someone explain to me how they do that with moving objects without having to add the colour frame by frame.

Ok, i think we can safely say this was a failed BTC rally. The only thing that can change the situation is a huge bull whale intervention that is going to squeeze all the shorts. Probably not gonna happen.

It appears we have a lot more of consolidation for BTC ahead of us. Like a lot of it.
Not big moves for a few weeks or months IMHO, sadly.

Gresham's Lawyer
Pointing to the smartphone, Kurzweil says, devices like the iPhone are 100,000 times smaller than the computer that he used as an MIT student. "It is also several thousand times more powerful," he says. "It is a million times cheaper. That is a several billion-fold increase in price performance." Technology is being reduced at a rate of "100,000 in 3-D volume per decade," says Kurzweil. "That is another predictable exponential trajectory, so computers of this capability will be blood-cell size in 2030.

Phone size is increasing again.

things you own end up owning you
Stop dumping you twats! We've had enough of that for the last 7 months.

I would like to dump 2000 BTC than watch you in person cry (if I only had 2000 BTC and knew you in person)

So. You are a sadistic-masochistic psychopath.

you never know, I could be, or maybe not ?  Cheesy..... simply, you are an idiot for suggesting that, if you knew what was the deep meaning of what I wrote about shroomskit you wouldn't suggest the above, but this makes me think that you are one of the butt hurt people who hangs around here.

I used to like your posts, but because my tolerance is going lower each day (especially when the price is going low) you've earned a quick ignore.

VERY Interesting interview with R Kurzweil .. also there is a brief bit about Bitcoin and there is some discussion of decentralisation.

Bitcoin @ 4 minutes and 11 minutes

whole vid is good though.

Exponential perspective.

Clueless!
590 is the 622, we stay around here for a month and then slowly drift lower.  No end in sight.

is the consensus on the slow drip downward bit by bit due to LOW use by the masses ie volume....and the fact that
new PH mining farms are coming up and pumping out coin straight to USD...thus the slow wearing down on price?

or just as good a theory as any>>>> or as usual I missed the boat/bus/car/skateboard and roller skates in all the above?

again the above is on the further theory that NO REAL news good or bad of any note....just the above slippage to be expected
if the above theory is right (unlikely just tossing it out there)

Petahash security is arguably excessive and a misallocation of capital.  Unfortunately BTC creates a perverse incentive.

I snipped the second paragraph cuz I couldn't understand it, but what do you think about parallel chains?

The perverse incentives I mentioned are the result of miners controlling the code of the core network.  That control was a boon while mining was decentralized, but now is becoming an exhorbitant burden.  Side chains are the best hope of end-running miner control of the protocol.  But that would be a substantial risk. It would have to be well tested (in alts) and highly motivated.

Is it possible to have a bitcoin clone running the same transaction code to run side-by-side with bitcoin but on another algorithm?
It is all made from a mouthful of air.  If you can imagine it, it is possible.  Until you work out the tradeoffs and control the risks and pay for the implementation and manage the politics it remains absurdly improbable.

While we are wishing, I would like to see cryptonite and monero pegged with bitcoin. The combined power of the three techs would create awesome synergistic value and utterly destroy fiat as a competitive liquidity tech. Xcn would provide scalability while xmr would provide fungibility, and xbt would provide value/network bootstrap.
