We are ready to go up now? The FBI bids has ended so the manipulation of the market has ended.
Nah, we have to wait till monday evening when bid will be open, before that nothing will be change.
So we will see change in the first of July, new month, new price fight. How much bidders has entered to the FBI auction?
It seems there was:
42 bidders
186 bids received

Nah, everything is now depends on monday when bid will be open. Looser will try to buy coins and we will get upside movement.

This thread didn't get to be over 9000 pages long (counting its predecessor) by only talking about market action, especially when nothing is happening.Here's some market action for you. What direction do you think btc will head when the news on Monday comes out about the auction price of the SR coins? The news is the important part. The actual sale price is less important because an astute business man would know not to crash the price by releasing coins rapidly.

That's the kind of thing that I am thinking too, regarding the most feasible preventative measure... somehow to make yourself incapable of complying... but still to be able to have access to the funds in the event that you need them.. without having to trust others... A problem with multi-sig would be if you have to trust others or the others could gang up on you and take control over your coins.
If you don't have friends you can trust, then you're going to have lots of general life problems outside Bitcoin.We shouldn't need to trust random third parties not to inflate our money, but that doesn't mean we can live while trusting no one ever.

I am NOT poo-pooing the idea of taking preventative measures. In fact, I applaud the taking of various preventative measures, yet when push comes to shove, we may be in a situation in which you gotta produce something b/c your hostage taker knows too much.. and it may even be related to someone who knows you well leaking information about you (which is a likely scenario.. an ex-wife.. or a nephew or some other ptiot confident)
The best way to resist extortion is to be incapable of complying.There are some very useful things that could be done with multisig toward that end.
