I just got tear in my eye when I was watching my 3rd video Bitcoin related ... (MultiBit tutorial) and I saw ... a price showing in the upper right corner of the Multibit app ...

"Market: MtGox price: $880" ...

a tear ... tear in my eye Smiley

We all miss MtGox, it was so much more fun when they were around. Let´s hope that they come back!

I love having BTC over 600.  Anything in the high 500's just feels like it's bound to cave into the 550 support but above 600 it seems like it's about to take off.  Just psychological, non-TA.

Looks great so far! Now it's time to have a crazy summer and hit the ATH again.
By judging how it's looking now, we should be there any time soon, maybe a month, month and a half.

I don't know much about tax, how would this affect me if I traded on plus500 as well?

How much do you guys use to trade?

I'd say a professional trader is someone whose main source of income is trading but you're not much of a serious professional trader at less than 70/80BTC of bankroll, what do you guys think?

During the peak of my trading before I started pulling out due to the volume decline, I was making 500BTC trades.

Nowadays I barely trade at all and don't even want to keep coins/funds on an exchange.

When your trade or have open orders you have money tied down with the exchanges

You can keep the money you have on the exchanges to a minimum but it is a risk anyway

Do you mean when MtGox folded, or before that? I can't really decide how to calculate volume. The rapid rise in the Chinese exchanges always felt a bit funny.

If we look at bitfinex swaps for a moment... USD-0.2016%-0.1272%-24,844,849.98 USD. Can someone gives an answer when those long will start to close if the price doesn't move up for a week? For sure we can't expect the price to go up much till the end of the auction... so when the rates on those longs will become to expensive?

Just a quick reply, I'm a long time lurker of this forum. In my opinion many people fails on estimating the swap rates on finex. It's true that the amount of open longs is really high, and the swap cost has been driven up to extortionary rates, but most of the swap has been taken at a much lower rate.

This is an actual example:

Swaps currently provided
Currency    N. of Swap Contracts (of 1 unit each)    Rate (% per day)    Opened at    Expire in    Actions
USD    2000.0    0.09%    21 May 10:44    2 days    Notify

As you can see this is a long term swap provided (granted, not my most successful swap contract...).
This has not even been placed as an autorenew. At that specific moment this was the highest request available, the FRR was even lower (about 0.07%, if I remember correctly).

My point is that in the 24M USD amount are included really low interest rates, and many of that longs have been opened at about 490/500. Again, I don't claim these are the most successful trades, but they're still there.

if you use a magnifier.. you could see that 1w chart for Stamp has gone GREEN  Grin

You mean the 1w MACD? It's actually flipping between red and green now not sure what to do.
MACD crosses need to be confirmed with volume and you should usually see more than one macd bar green since the latest candle is not closed yet.

Gresham's Lawyer
This coming from the guy who analyzes charts and daytrades more than anyone lol.
I know that I'm a trader but I acknowledge that Bitcoin is about much more than trading. Underdog on the other hand, makes posts implying that every other bitcoin participant is a trader so everyone who is selling is doing so out of a weak trading strategy.

QFT

It is a good point you make here.  As one who is at least as much a user than a trader, the changing value of what is left over in the cashier's till is nice.  That this value improves more durably due to the volume of commerce than the volume of traders is a point that some might miss due to its authorship.
