Tokyo, Japan, February 17th, 2014!
"
Dear MtGox Customers,!
"
We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the recent suspension of external
bitcoin transfers. Fortunately, as we announced on Saturday we have now
implemented a solution that should enable withdrawals and mitigate any issues
caused by transaction malleability (please see our previous statements for
details on this issue). "
"
Thanks to our friends at Blockchain.info, MtGox now has a workaround that will
use a unique identifier created by Blockchain to show whether transactions have
been modified or not. This will prevent any fraudulent use of the malleability
issue and protect the assets of our customers. "
"
Resuming Withdrawals!
"
With this new system in place, MtGox should be able to resume withdrawals
soon. At the beginning we will do so at a moderated pace and with new daily/
monthly limits in place to prevent any problems with the new system and to take
into account current market conditions. "
"
In order to launch the new system, we are going through the following steps:"
"
-" Re-indexing the entire Blockchain (approx. 32 million entries)"
-" Fully deploying the new NTX ID"
-" Implementing a new bitcoin withdrawal queue that needs to be tested"
"
We will update everyone again by Thursday at the latest. "
"
Additionally, you may have noticed that we have added a new login system that
sends you an email when you successfully access your account. This is an
additional security layer, but as always we strongly encourage our customers to
use the 2-step authorization options available in our Security Center. "
"
Thank you again for your support, and we look forward to resume bitcoin
withdrawals as quickly as possible. "
"
Best regards,"
"

another great one just a few moments ago:

somebody asked if they can promise that all FIAT/BTC is safe.

Quote
[11:28] <@Delerium> yerp: I cant confirm something that I dont know but my personal opinion is that theyre all safe

so it's just his opinion. If it comes to money I wouldn't like to have just an "opinion".
I never had a cent on Mt.Gox.

But why do people belive this ... ?

WTF, is he an confirmed employee of MtGox.Huh

My personal opinion is that his opinion might not be the truth.

Its just going to take them longer. Probably 2-3 more days is my guess. Meanwhile, as more people like yourself panic, the more free bitcoins I pick up over at bitcoinbuilder.

I don't see the attraction of paying .7 for gox btc? The true difference is more like .5 and if gox doesnt make an announcement the price is likely to drop further. Why wouldn't you just send some fiat there ?

I live in the US

Fair enough your sig fooled me  Cheesy

Good luck then. Hope it works out for you!

Not good, i expect another wave of panic after todays horrible "update"

Yeah, it's going to be a few more days. I can only hope that bitcoinbuilder prices plummet to where the actual price is in the meantime.

How are USD withdrawls doin right now btw. 2 weeks backlog i heard....

You are so full of misinformation that even when you try to be serious you are off in left field somewhere. There are no USD withdrawals on Gox.  No cash in or out of Gox to and from the U.S.

[11:08] <@Delerium> Right now I have no update on the current situation. I beleive testing is still in progress as is the reindexing of the blockchain. I beleive that an announcement is coming but I have no further information than that.
[11:09] <@Delerium> Any abuse, fat jokes or trolling will result in either a silence or kickban.

I guess the BTC are gone.
I simply can't believe it takes them so long, while BTC-e and Bitstamp solved the problem in 24h-48h.
Just buying time for something what so ever.

Your mindset is exactly why poor morons are selling BTC on gox for pennies on the dollar. Gox has the oldest code. Its the worst programmed, it is the most susceptible to shit like what happened last week and its the hardest to fix. Comparing it to Stamp or BTC-e code is apples to oranges. Plus, they are French, so they suck at coding anyway Wink

I don't panic at all, I am just trying to be realistic.
People are unable to make FIAT withdrawals for months and now that they have frozen everything officially you still think that these are "technical issues" are real?
These "technical issues" without any further informations (that would sound legit) are typical politician used sentences.

They are simply hiding something and can't lie publicly because everything is going to be used against them.
