Well, this has been quite exciting...

let's say, hypothetically speaking  Roll Eyes  If you had an upper tranche that has been getting nibbled at all weekend, at what price do you start to back-fill your lower tranche?

This is a little off-topic but I just noticed that all the trolls' ignore buttons have stopped glowing, even Walso and Mucus. I didn't check Revans.

Is this some kind of New Year's amnesty?

I don't ignore anyone because I find trolls hilarious so I don't know if the ignore function stopped working or if it's just that the buttons stopped glowing.

Strange.

Forum became self aware, and learned we are all trolls.

Side Note: How can we as a group verify the amout the volume reported by exchanges, fud on reddit says huobi is run out of the owners personal bank account and these volumes are bot induced ping pong'n

Huobi has over 60% "volume"... it will vanish on jan 31!
This is the last runup before the final capitulation. We'll probably see another ATH before that. Just don't forget to take profits above 1200$.

Perhaps.  Meanwhile, gox has a double bottom and stamp appears to be experiencing a series of higher lows on the 5 minute chart.   Either a bearish pennant or the start of another overnight run-up.

Patterns are wonderful things.  You can pick N of them to justify whatever conclusion you wish to make.

And yes, I'm long term bullish. But china needs to get out of the game. They fake anything. Watches, clothes, cars, ... even business reports.

cool story, you know what the Chinese plan to do before they know. Carry on folks, just some crystal ballin'

So? rallies in a bear market is not something out of the ordinary. A lot of fools will be trapped in the ATH range.

Oh my! I appear to have got caught in a perpetual bull trap!  Cheesy

You are all underestimating the inevitable reports from china about the extent of price manipulation. Krugman and others will jump all over the news. We will inundated with articles about the real forces behind the bubble.

Close to 3 weeks of pretty much steadily increasing prices from capitulation at 455 to today's 4 digits (at Gox but the other exchanges are closely parallel) and you think it's a bear market?

If this is a bear market, I'd like to see what you consider a bull market.

so you hope

sorry we only went up 200 dollars in price over the weekend lol

bear market shmear market... it's only bear cause people spread such fear that China was all out of BTC...while Huobi NEVER STOPPED ACCEPTING CNY DEPOSITS (to my knowledge) stole all the chinese market share for a short period and so the train resumed...

All in all we were at 455 a month ago...I guess I should consider that a month long rally then I guess

I bought some on ebay with paypal for $13
Those were the days.

Even last winter I was scratching my head at Paypal's stubborn reluctance to accept payment in bitcoins. Obviously as an online payment service they considered Bitcoin to be a competitive threat, but using it as an internal means of quickly and cheaply moving large amounts of money internationally seemed a no-brainer.

As a division of eBay, it makes even more sense to accept payment in bitcoins. They are already a de facto currency exchange. If I buy something in Euros, AUD, USD, etc., and pay for it with my CAD Paypal account they automatically convert my fiat.

The trouble is that because I refuse to use credit cards, it takes a week to transfer fiat from my Canadian bank to Paypal, and while I try to keep a couple of thousand dollars in my PP account, sometimes it's not enough. If I could add money to my PP account in less than 10 minutes with Bitcoin, I could bid on a sweet deal or exercise a buy-it-now that I would miss otherwise.

Paypal would still get their payment fee, plus whatever they make on the exchange, and their parent company would make their end on the eBay sale. It seems like win-win all around. They're just being stubborn.
