Wow, this is exciting... So quiet, so much tension in the air. What wil happen next?

didnt you get the memo?

Arbitrage trading means the market will go down short term until China market is irrelevant.

I am a pig, and I actually did well. I sold at 800 because I felt nervous, wanting to get back initial investment. Bought back as it fell, which was never part of my plan, but now have almost as many btc as before, but with a lot of fiat too. So my BTC position is down, but I have way more fiat than I ever put in. Sweet.

Very Important Christmas Gift Advice :

This thing is currently way overbought and mid-term overvalued considering the chinese exchanges current state of affairs..
No more fresh CNY, not even bank transfer cause the exchanges never used them and won't be allowed.
No more frenzy buying by china gamblers, no more capital control bypass trick. Remember they were the one that ignited this baby.
A $100-$150 difference in price tells volumes, that china is weak though they account for 20%-35% of the btc market.
In the coming days they will be dumping on other exchanges, especially on bitstamp to get USD at the best rate. Selling pressure will be overwhelming.
All chinese exchanges reinstated fees, to milk while they can, until they  move to HK with NO big fat pocked china man ot simply close shop! There is no way around that.
Yes i'm saying all that after i sold and happy in fiat without loss Cheesy. And don't worry i won't buy back your coins until lower lows are achieved  Cheesy

Is there a reliable way to withdraw money from Stamp to a Chinese account?

I dont see a problem... transferring money into the country. It has always been transferring out thats a problem.

I know a Chinese family that move a large sum back to China to buy a house. Its done by bank wiring.

Makes sense. But it also makes sense that they would already be dumping. It's bitcoin, they can send it from one exchange to the other. Where is the dump?

Can you see this price difference continuing? Impossible, It will adjust i guarantee you that, maybe 5% max, but not 20% as currently.
And most important factor is china's CNY wont contribute to btc growth, and they were a big factor in price surge. Selling pressure shall grow over the next few days.

Probably. Maybe. But your really just hoping at this point. We really don't know what is going to happen with this situation. Whether bitcoin is reinstated in China soon - possibility - or if Bobby will shut down the exchange completely. Or if Chinese really want fiat at Bitstamp.

Its all probability but the odds are in favor of shutting down exchange....

You just bought back in didnt you Wink

This is it guys, exactly how i predicted .... no more money coming in to any btc exchanges in China. All the ppl who scoped cheap coins gonna dump it within a week at foreign exchange for USD.

btc38.com exchange got SHUTDOWN , probably for accepting deposit :

Don't have to be verified to deposit btc.
But have to be to withdraw (and that's the goal)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but with BTC China still open but not really accepting deposits in any substantial way, can we not expect it to hold us down until Jan 31st? The arbitrage situation is tenuous and will take a few days to sort out. Also, what are the Chinese going to do with fiat from Bitstamp? While the market has processed this reality, not much has changed about it. Curious situation.

Another Very Important Christmas Gift Advice :

Lots of people expecting this Holiday dip.

You know what happens when everyone expects the same thing right?

Be careful and on the alert... Don't sell more than you can afford to lose on the short term. I'm not saying we ain't going down, but the dump may make itself wait longer than everyone expects....

We'll see about that. There's a real chance we're going to cross 770/780 (mtgox) in the next 24-48 hours. If that happens, you will most likely have to wait a while for your cheaper coins. They might still manifest, but until then you'll be nervously watching the charts all the time, wondering if you missed the train :D
