Anybody caught this BBC article yet?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-25130261

Yep, just read it. Surprised? No. I've read many like it. Old school establish ecconomists dismissing bitcoin as just another tulip story.. or just another blah blah..
Yeah.. spare me please.

The comments section is even worse. Everytime i read comments on a bitcoin story on the web.. you see the same ill-informed opinion, and the same questions raised again and again.
Though it is hardly surprising that these are questions raised by people who have not done any research into it.

What is it backed by?? Cryptography and maths.

How do we know there will only be 21 Million ever?? Cryptography and maths.

So there was a reddit thread about adopting "bits" as the new unit (1 bit = 1 microBTC).

What's general sentiment?  I rather like the idea. Current exchange: $0.001145 per bit. Sounds much more attractive psychologically. We really ought to choose a unit we're not gonna have to replace in a couple years anyway.

The wall attack on Stamp is starting - a wall is building at 999.5 in front of the 1K ask wall...

Let battle commence Smiley

Don't be afraid to sell and cash out small number of coins according to a set "rake" plan.
No need to panic hold all the time, it's too stressful.

You people never read the second line I posted... Come on; did you? Roll Eyes

So who is selling, 5 digits?

can sell a coin and cover investments at that point.. I prolly would sell one.. cause then next doubling would be 20k.. than 40k as to when I would sell 5% of my leftover holdings

It amazes me that people with fiat can look at those 3500+ coins on Stamp and not see them as cheap. Especially with the other exchanges running away from them.

To be fair, the other exchanges (Gox and China) have historically been overpriced. China pretty much had their own crash just a couple of weeks back. Perhaps it's those which are expensive, not Stamp which is cheap.

Ummm, have to disagree. This is OBVIOUSLY a bull rally. This market is going up and soon too. Every indication is that fresh money is ready to drive this market much higher. $999 is a GREAT price right now. Its almost guaranteed a 20% return, probably 40 or 50 or more.

There is no "overpriced" right now. Not in these conditions. Its not about what someones "opinion" of overpriced is, money wants this market higher.

For people just to stare at this wall is ridiculous.

Nobody -read again- NOBODY who owns a 3 or 4 digit amount of BTCs is selling nowadays. It's all what they were looking for and patiently waiting, all this time. It will simply won't happen (unless they want to convince some weak hands to sell their stash to them in panic sells)... Wink

Well, you have somebody selling 3k coins at $1k on Stamp Cheesy

Do not forget that there are quite a lot +3k BTC holders that mined back in 2010, 2011 and 2012, and that never in their lives have seen more thant $50k at the same time. The sensible thing to do for those guys is to sell 1k coins and bring home their first million. They won't be "all set for life", but their life will VASTLY improve for the years to come.

You see, money has a marginal utility once you reach a certain spot. Securing the first million is much more important than making the second one. Sensible guys know this.

Yep. If I woke up and realized I had 3k BTC I would sell 1k immediately.

I would dance around excitedly wondering how the hell my Bitcoins made babies!

The interesting thing is, a smaller and smaller amount of these rediscovered early stashes actually needs to be liquidated to provide financial security.

rpitiela has been cashing out regularly for a while. And I wonder where you think these 3k walls come from.

I'm not bearish,  you guys are just delusional.
