Be as obtuse as you like Smiley   I'll just be enjoying the ride.

Same here Cool

I also finally got my bot up and running again so I'm no longer tempted to day-trade (thank god! I'm awful at it). Now I'm just watching this lovely volatility (mostly upwards for now, but that will change at some point).

Has anyone thought that if Bitcoin (or similar) becomes a world currency, there will be historians and anthropologists crawling all over the backups of these forums 200 years from now, understanding how the crypto revolution happened?

Weird to be in the middle of history.

Very cool thought-- I agree, we are in the midst of something spectacular (and historic). I can't help feeling both proud of and a little jealous of the guys sitting on thousands of coins (my mind almost implodes thinking about Loaded's 200k.

Also, when we attend the 10K/coin party (didn't they move it to 10K?), we need to wear name tags with pictures of our Avatars so I can recognize you guys. I gotta say I'm grateful to be here. Fucking p2p is the shizo.

Nice party to visit for some criminals with a few armed buddies Smiley

I don't see the point. I don't carry paper wallets on my person.

besides, any such gathering would be spectacularly well armed itself, personally I think a brace of model 94 carbines would be appropriate

In Germany? That's not legal dude.

Plus kidnapping and torture are always nice options to have.

I don't think most of us would be targets, and the people who would be targets know it and would have security teams. They'd certainly be able to afford it at 100K/coin  Wink

yes... way ahead of you. setting up personal armies is just going to become normal around here.

i have received questions about personal security service for the entire visit (i am not kidding). upon request we will organize such services for people who feel safer this way. frankfurt has a large security infrastructure, so does berlin.

we haven´t moved it to 10k but we noticed that bitcoin sorta overrun us here...  Grin
we will have professional security, and no open doors, no fuck-up to be expected.

the name tag is a nice idea, the actual idea behind the party was to to get ourselves away from the keybords to meet all in person and just party hard this historic success story. we all spend hours/days/lives in this forum. the party is the real life reward. this will be huge !

I sold at $800 on the fist bubble.

Yeah, that's been obvious for a while mate.
The rest of this movement is manipulation by one or a few big players. Its right there for anyone to see in the Gox charts.

And?
And... this recent price increase to $950 is not representative of true growth in Bitcoin, it is being artificially pumped up.

Yes, but so what?  What's your point?   You seem to be annoyed that you didn't forsee that people would pump the price to $1000 (it's been on the cards since the start of the month), and now you just whinge every post when it goes higher.   Sorry buddy but it was your choice to sell, and you chose a bad time.  Such is life, learn from it.    Maybe you'll get a chance to buy back in later, maybe you won't, but next time, just hold Wink
You can't really be that much of an idiot to see that this is not a positive thing for Bitcoin. We want the value to grow organically, not because some bankers who bought all the bitcoins with their printing press decide to manipulate the entire Bitcoin market.

This has been the way of bitcoin since the start.  It's hardly ever been organic growth.  It has huge swings followed by periods of stagnation, that's just the way it is.  The only question now is where it will settle again.

I see a lot of posts from.... people, wanting it to drop back to $300 so they can feel all smart and buy everything they can.  Well sorry but you had your chance, and you missed it.   It'll probably drop back at some point, it always does, but I doubt it'll fall anywhere near there.  If you're lucky it'll drop to near where you sold so you can fix your mistake, but don't try and disguise your greed by getting all shitty at people pumping the price.  That's bitcoin, get used to it.

tl;dr, you fucked up, live with it.

When we left $1 the price went below again later.
When we left $10 the price went below again later.
When we left $100 the price went below again later.

I'd like to see $1000 be the trend reverser, where we leave all previous digits behind for good.  Cheesy
