This is a net positive but a mixed blessing for us US folks.  The western politicians will be able to frame Bitcoin as an attack on the Dollar.

Which it is.  Not that Bitcoin gives a single shit about the dollar.

Just as my little diesel truck could not care less about horses.

Iran is being cut off from fiat systems so it's only logical they go with crypto. In fact it's quite late, probably because the Iranian dictatorship doesn't really like the fact it can't control BTC.

It's understandable US citizens see Iran as the big baddies as they're fed trash all the time, but surely those who think a little realize Iran has done nothing to the US to deserve this ? Unlike, say, Saudi Arabia ?

Meanwhile, 7% inflation in U.S.

Well this is what Americans supposedly voted for.

The most popular president ever if you can believe that.

Not that things are much better in much of Europe or UK.
We seem to be debasing our currency at about the same rate.

Highest inflation in 40 years in the USA albeit I reckon the CPI figures are still far lower than what many people are faced with.

I'm happy to report my salary increase in percentage here once I hear about it in a few months.

I bet it will only be 2%.
Fucking jokers.

Falling again though. Hopefully just a minor correction on way to >43k.

Hopium rewarded, 44K hit today a bit earlier.

Just came back home from work (VERY busy lately...), and I see a nice, near-parabolic upward movement.

$44k reached -- hopefully moar soon.

Go, Bitcoin, go!

44k looks nice but it fell back to 43.7

Yeah, probably should just sell it all now, before it is too late. /s

Buy, buy, buy!!!

Edit:

DXY showing on micro-level bearish as it breached the 95.5 green line denoted in the below chart (line denoted in green because downward momentum in DXY usually good sign for BTC price).

Sometimes I think if becoming Legal Tenders in Countries was even the motive of Satoshi?
You being your own bank is what I always represent Bitcoin/Crypto with.

What are your thoughts?

This is an interesting question.

The ideas of open source software, cryptography, distributed tech, all share some properties.  One of them is that they are free to be used by anyone.

In one way your question is like asking "I wonder if being the backbone of the internet was Linus Torvald's goal for his kernel?"

In the end FOSS gets to be what ever the users want it to be and used by whomever chooses to.  So Bitcoin is open to use by any tiny individual as well as whole countries.  Banks will use it.  New "banks" will be built on top of it.  In some ways I feel as a use case El Salvador is much closer to the heart of what Bitcoin is than Coinbase.  But I believe FOSS allows them both.

The idea that the only legitimate use is a grassroots one (not saying that is your argument) is a bad take in my humble opinion.

The right thing is for the FOSS community that supports Bitcoin do its best to make sure that the grassroots user always continues to have access.
