I am finding this funny that how come the banks might be thinking accepting bitcoin and providing clients crypto services.

Bitcoin be like I see myself far ahead from you guys.

Correct we are on a path to create our Planet Earth into something similar as Venus right now. It is not only co2, the chemicals present in the sea now are puncturing through ice on both poles.

By the way Humans are altering the mass of the planet either by mining or burning. Turning solids/liquids into gas for 100s of years is bound to have an effect.
So what is your bizarre claim, the Titanic never sank or what?

Yeah, ban all plastic and amateur fisherman, but ffs - leave all the pros fishing wild. They are good for the enviroment. Tongue

Seaspiracy?

Link?
I know you have trouble providing links, and will probably get a screenshot or something at best, but “link or it didn’t happen”.

The researchers have CO2 data going back 800 000 years from the ice cores, and it looks like this:

When you're talking about climate and attempting to make claims that a gas which forms less than half of 1 percent of our atmosphere is so "special" that it possesses some kind of magical thermodynamic asymmetry that no other gas posseses, to the extent that a barely detectable amount can bring us to global extinction, (contrary to all known thermodynamic laws) then the only way it can be done is through lies, distortions, statistical manipulation and scientific fraud.

For example, take a look at the Y-axis in your graph. It is calibrated in parts per million (PPM). Now convert that to percent and re-calibrate the axis to show the other atmospheric constituents such as nitrogen and oxygen. You will now find that your "skyrocketing" Co2 level is actually nothing of the sort. It'll barely even be detectable with the naked eye and may even be caused by the oceans releasing Co2 absorbed during the medieval warm period. Not the comparably miniscule amount emitted by man.

Now take a look at the x-axis. It's not even calibrated in millions of years which would be the appropriate scale when looking at the long term evolution of atmospheric constituents. This is what it should look like even without comparison with the other constituents:

Not that any of this chronological Co2 p*ssng contest matters anyway.

The first and final nail in the coffin of this hoax is has always been the first law of thermodynamics itself. If you want to raise temperature you need more energy, end of. As this document, written by a gas turbine engineer who spent a lifetime on thermodynamic modelling, describes, there is no "trapping" of energy by any gas beyond its heat capacity. Even if properties such as emissivity (Co2's apparent magical "trapping" property) may vary, they only affect the rate at which it absorbs energy, not the equilibrium temperature they reach. If you want to fill that void, I'd suggest a Chromebook. If you don't like the google crap, some can have alternative operating systems installed. Not having a keyboard is annoying to me and the only place I accept it is with my phone where portability is the primary criteria.

Thanks Richy. I was wondering what tablet device could boot from an alternative operating system. Haven’t checked it out yet, but I hope you’re talking about a native support of such OS’es.
I wouldn’t have given my tablet a mere pass, if not for the (a) awesome screen response, and (b) the magic keyboard.

My tracking device is quickly becoming - only for emergency calls - and into the Faraday case it goes again.

Does this desensitize us to risk?

Nope, risk is our middle name. As it should be.

Desensitize us to moderate large amounts of money?

FTFY.
Yes.

Shit, in any given year a Bitcoin holder could be up and down so much that they easily gain $1,000,000 a year and loose $800,000 a year if you count all the swings..

For most bitcoiner maxi’s, I dare speculate that it makes them frugal. Buy what you absolutely value the most, trash all the rest.
Consumerism - been there, seen that.

Who would have guessed burning through eons worth of settled carbon within a couple centuries would result in increased levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Shocker.

-"When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro."

... note, this overstates the trend also because the satellite temperature record begins in the late 1970s, right at the end of a strong cooling spell, strong enough for institutional science to be fear-mongering about the earth imminently entering an ice-age, and yes institutional science was claiming that cooling was man made back then in 1970 too.

... institutional scientists are like politicians because they are mostly poor and will say whatever you pay them to say, and they are mostly paid by governments

... the temperature has hardly gone up for over 40 years, it's a huge hoax to fleece the idiots

... the earth has some nations with terrible real pollution problems though, the climate change mass hysteria will not fix any of that, probably make it worse by increasing economic waste, resources misallocations, destitution and distracting energies to a none existent problem

are you people retarded or something.  We literally went to fucking ANTARTICA, of all places, and DRILLED BABY DRILLED ice cores.  Those ice cores have air bubbles in them, we analyzed the air bubbles and found that we are fucked.

Maybe run your gasoline car in the garage, all doors closed and see what happens to the atmosphere ?  tip :  it changes when you add gases to it.

... pretty sure Greta, bless her soul, truly is retarded but believe whoever you like, name-calling wont change a thing

... the ice-core data definitively showed that CO2 rises trailed global warming periods by thousands of years so basic causality means could not have been the cause of previous warm epochs, the whole scam should have ended then but you know .... when liars are caught in a lie, they always double-down with a bigger lie

... very much the same thing is happening with centralised fiat banking, public health- Big Pharma complex and global socialist order, it's collapsing around them and all they have is bigger lies, more jackboots, less freedom and stronger propaganda initiatives

The researchers have CO2 data going back 800 000 years from the ice cores, and it looks like this:

Source: https://climate.nasa.gov/evidence/

I don't think anyone here doubt the scientific proof, but we could always argue about the effects of global warming, how long it will take for complete plant/animal extinction, effective measures to reduce or remove CO2, etc.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"
You guys might disagree, but this cycle is quite underwhelming (in bitcoin) despite lots and lots of attention.
We are just X2.4 the prior ATH despite being quite deep into the current cycle.

Fair enough.

What's the rush?

You trying to suggest that bitcoin is supposed to be on a kind of schedule?

BTC appreciated at just 26% APY since the last ATH (I used 3.833 years since the last ATH).
It's great, but not phenomenal.

Is that the way you choose to measure CAGR?

Seems a wee bit lacking in scientificness.

JStolfi used to measure bitcoin's performance from the November/December 2013 ATH and then say that we are "underperforming."   Look where that persistent dumbass analysis got him.

Looking forward to a huge jump that has got to be coming.

I am glad that you remain optimistic.  That does put you in a somewhat better place than JStolfi who even refused to buy bitcoin.. so, at least, you have not refused to buy bitcoin, as far as I can determine.. You just decided to NOT buy more, and just stick with your about 20 BTC from your 2015-ish purchases. .. which is fair enough.. fair enough

Pretty sure everyone (everyone sane?) will agree that we (humans) already managed to fuck up environment at the city levels in many locations around the globe (possibly country levels, fancy a health retreat in Bangladesh?). Yet even the thought, that combined effect of all those fucked up cities could have some not so positive effects on a global scale, is completely incomprehensible and alien to them.

Dude, I don't want to get in the middle of this discussion but you need to keep straight the differences between global and local and warming and pollution.

... good approach, we can tweak the asset class efficiencies and come up with a total addressable market in 2021 dollars
Be my guest...   I thought that I was attempting to use 2021 dollars...

... your numbers put that around $ 40 mill, I'm thinking of an order of magnitude O(m) range, $5-50mill?

I thought that my total was $822.65 trillion-ish... .. not sure where you are getting those $40 million or $5-50 million numbers.

I would love to see someone change some of the assumptions and then show where my numbers might be inadequate in one way or another - because I feel that my numbers are just nearly pure off the top of my head SOMA (if that's possible?) numbers in the sense that I just picked the first numbers that randomly passed through my head.. because I am not even sure if I understand the ramifications of each of the asset categories  in terms of how much they are being overvalued by having a kind of storage of value function.. and probably it becomes quite difficult to measure, too because it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy that a house that used to be worth $220k all of a sudden becomes valued a close to a $1million.. merely because everyone else is buying houses because they are afraid to keep money in cash.. and they just hardly have any clue where to put it.. so they just put it into real estate - like everyone else is doing.
