This is all wrong.
What kind of a sound system are they setting up?
I cringe hearing the resulting midrangey mess with my mind's ear.
These people definitely can't party.
Why do you guys diss her?
I often wonder why wo will attack or defend various people.
I feel mostly she is attacked and not sure why you all do it.
BTW as a speaker building hobbiest those horns/megaphones will sound like shit.
Don't think I've attacked her in this thread but I can probably suggest a few reasons:
* No one likes a person who basically says: "I know it all and you old farts are all to blame for all problems"
* She was photographed at home with a chair that costs $10,000. She clearly comes from the elite herself and is held up as a poster child.
* She has a large CO2 footprint with all the travelling she does (like many people who say we all supposedly pollute too much - see even more crazy hypocrites like Lewis Hamilton)
* She came out this week and "blah blah-ed" the UK governments' attempts at accelerating dropping emissions asap.
In the UK we are already going to be forced to buy electric cars within the next 10 years (if you want a new car at least). I think that is quite a fast turn around. There is actually no concrete plan that I've seen to provide the UK with enough electricity for that. Households will almost double their electricity usage by charging an EV at home. Unless many more of us will all have solar panels (the only way I think this will be possible in the short term) this could be a big problem and make electricity rather expensive (which it is already becoming without mass EV adoption).
I can say from experience some green solutions have only been scams in the past and do not provide a smaller CO2 footprint, but in fact larger and just makes things worse for the planet and households. I have a solar panel for water heating which does fuck all in the UK. For electricity themselves they can be useful from what I gather as they don't require sunlight directly.
So yeah I can see why some people think "bore off, things are happening quickly already" about this Thunberg woman.
I'm of the opinion that innovation such as EVs themselves (the excitement of fast acceleration and lack of moving parts etc) or Bitcoin can help provide a reduction in CO2 output.
But it still remains to be seen whether all the lithium mining needed for batteries will actually be such a great thing or just cause more problems long term.
We will still need tonnes of oil, rubber and other resources regardless of not consuming petrol or gas at home.
Just shouting through a megaphone is kind of a lazy approach to try to fix big problems I think.
