At one point he commented, “[Bitcoin] has been and could continue to be a catalyst for change in the fields of finance and money.”

Elsewhere, Gensler issued new remarks that shed light on how the SEC may act on the many exchange-traded fund (ETF) proposals now up for review by the agency, signaling that those based on Bitcoin futures may have the highest chance of approval.

“Given these important protections, I look forward to the staff’s review of such filings, particularly if those are limited to these CME-traded bitcoin futures,” he said.

... this figures, the only ETF to get approval will be based on fiat cash-settled futures trading only. This way they can keep manipulating btc price and price expectations without risking value escaping the fiat pyramid scheme with runaway retail demand for exposure to btc upside, i.e. a btc-backed ETF.

I recognize the yellow thistle and the green foxtail which we have around here as well.  Their native habitat is Eurasia.  The other weed looks like Cleavers (hitchhikers) which grows pretty much everywhere but I'm confused by the juxtaposition of the weeds and the upscale restaurant (I'm basing this on the table setting).  Based on the timing of your dinner post and the lack of sunlight it looks like you might have gone one or two time zones west.  I think you're in Greece.

Now the money is free, and so the people will be
Pretty sure ETH will drop once GG announces sweeping SEC/CFTC regulation regarding DEFI, DEX's, token sales and NFTs.  He aint stupid, he knows about the obvious bullshit, left pocket to right pocket "sales" to create appearance of activity/volume/price discovery.  ETH recent hike sounds like the result of 200 000 ETH leaving DEFI the past few days, so that means a multiple of that in actual investment.  at 0.07 eth/btc, sounds like a great price to swap it imo.  my 2 satoshis.

Just another blast from the past Wink

And if I had invested in bitcoin when I first learned of it (mostly through Rick Falkvinge's rave), I would be very sorry and angry now.

Reminds me of the story of some record producer back in the 60's when he heard a Rolling Stones demo tape....

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"
We’re approaching make or break time for the market. We need to see a jump over $45K to propel BTC to new highs. It’s looking good at the moment though. I’m expecting to see some fireworks as we start heading into the end of the year. Q4 should be pretty much straight up for crypto until the music stops. Until that happens, grab a partner and make sure to be on the dance floor.

First of all, this thread is about bitcoin, so not sure what you are talking about when you mention that amorphous crypto concept.

But, let's say for the moment that you just slipped up with that term, and you did not mean to speak such gobbledy gook, and you were actually referring to bitcoin, then are you proclaiming that bitcoin's price peak for this cycle is going to be this calendar year?

How could you know that?

We have a wee bit of a different kind of bitcoin price dynamic going on this time around, and sure maybe currently the closest comparison that could be made would be 2013, but we are not in 2013 no more Dorothy.... so we cannot really expect that bitcoin would peak in the same kind of way as 2013, can we?

I am not ruling it out, but seems a bit of a strange scenario to see bitcoin peaking out in a short period of time like it did in 2013.

Maybe you have some other kind of scenario in mind?  And, surely another dynamic that currently exists is the various aspects of the shitcoin market, and I am not sure if the various shenanigans going on there would create some kind of positive feedback channel for bitcoin, but could you imagine if so many snot-nosed 14-year olds were also able to become rich as fuck through the various smoke and mirror bullshit merely because there could end up being a kind of "hang-on" effect with bitcoin.

Don't get me wrong OgNasty, I am not inviting any kind of analysis of shitcoins, especially if there were to be any presumption that any of them have value beyond short term pumpening and dumpening scammenings, because that kind of analysis would probably need to go somewhere outside this thread.. but if you are considering a scenario that bitcoin goes up and shitcoins just stagnate, that might be a kind of framing that would not necessarily cause us to stray into shitcoin discussions in this thread..

Buddy's next post will be +$40000.1

Come on prove me wrong!

Now!

If you keep saying it, sooner or later you will be correct, even if it could take a few years.

Looks like after 1/2 days of Bitcoin being rejected at above $41,000, there's another momentum building up likely caused by the Ethereum London upgrade.

Fuck Ethereum.    Have you never heard, Zicadis, that the tail does not wag the dog, or do you believe in fantasy causation theories?

Currently looks like a strong support is forming at well above $35,000. It looks to me that the cooling-off period for Bitcoin was brief and that the market is looking green again.

Three consecutive buy orders was enough to send BTC on another raly.

Huh?  We can proclaim that king daddy is a product of order book activities that have been happening over the past 3 days?  That's a pretty narrow way to view what makes the king tick.

image loading...

The orderbook confirms this bull where we see that majority of the people want to buy Bitcoin and accummulate more for what's to come ahead.

So we are going up from here?  For sure breaking through $46k or you cannot see that far ahead?

Unless we see a sharp sell-off (at this point in time this seems unlikely), we're not likely to go back to under $30,000.

You are thinking that the bottom of $28,600 is in, even if we have not made it above $46k, yet?

Maybe I am thinking too conservatively?  I gotta be more bold, no?

So get your Bitcoin ahead of the institutional buys, and you will be glad you bought at $37,000.

image loading...

Can't disagree with the point that retail does still seem to have decently ongoing opportunities to front run institutions, and likely sooner is going to be better than later in that regard, especially if there are preferences to buy coins at relatively cheaper prices.. even though from my perspective, before we get above $46k, there still seem to exist quite a few uncertainties whether the bottom of $28,600 is actually "in", but sure, Zicadis, you could end up being correct with what you seem to be saying is that we can feel some confidence that the bottom is in, even if we have not gotten above $46k yet (in recent times).

Cлaвa Укpaїнi!

wow I remember back in 2000-2002 when i was in college...one of the "cool dude" who watched this Commando movie first on CD... he narrated this whole story to us and during our free period Smiley

He was the one who will get all computer games and movies first... he also introduced us to video game "Commandos 3: Destination Berlin" sorry it was Commando Beyond The Call of Duty one the first games I played Smiley

I remember the Green Beret...

Sorry for edits... :p

In 2000? Dude the movie is from 1985, where do you live?

yup that's true... well to be honest luxury of watching movies of your own choice came very late to us... until then we used to watch what was being telecasted on the TV channels Smiley

Ok, I'll guess a former soviet republic or maybe Romania or Bulgaria.

I will guess Santorini just because I could confirm with day shots and it has a great view drop to the sea.

Good price action today with recovery back above Jan range and challenging now the weekly average to regain positive momentum.   Lows matched an old downtrend and we found positive sentiment to rise after a pullback, possibly into a larger positive move for this month.
