Its nothing wrong to do "her own way", the point of meditation is to not give a f^ck in the first place. And having shoes ready, good for her!!! Making yourself the most comfortable and making the things that don't make you worry, is perfect. If u don't worry, I consider that a perfect meditation exercise.
The concept of meditation is meditation.
But if you decide to do it the yogi way, or tai-chi (doesn't matter which way, honestly) then you better do it exactly how it's meant to be. It's a tradition with meanings, expressed in postures, feelings, emotions, breathing and the balancing of all this.
The way you try to put it, it's like saying "Tantra is just touching a naked person, it doesn't matter how you do it".
You can as well just go on and meditate straight away, like in "the power of now" methodology, right. But this also has it's own tradition(s) and is not "meditation" as such either.
Meditation is not about not giving a fuck in the first place, it's more about to fall in love with existence. "not giving a fuck" is a perspective of the ego.
No.
And Yeah in the same time.
You are wrong and also have some truth.
Basically u can't force a 'normie' to have rigid rules and making them to take a path of harsh rules & restriction.
One must come to peace with their surroundings trough their own experience and lerning curve. Just because todlers are supposed eventually to walk and speak, it doesn't mean they have to walk and speak.
I understand that there might be rigid techniqués and rules that need to be followed. And they might take you faster to a state of harmony.... But some might get more out of it if they try to get to that sense of harmony by trying to understand how they can get there on their own and if they want that, and how can they understand their path in an ascending way by observing the things they don't like. Meditation is more about awareness, being aware by the things you don't like and that bother you. And in a way you try to not give a f^ck and be bothered by nonsense.
... like the shoes.
The thing is that you do meditate with time and understand new meanings in less or lesser and even nothingness (coming to terms not to take "the observable nothingness as nothingness"). Meditation is a perspective of control to not be bothered by your surroundings and go trough a path or experience without being influenced or altered, keeping/retaining in the same time your older self-state-presence-of-mind attitude and energy.
